Waffle House — Restaurant in Deer Creek Township

When I first went in it with my son it was packed in one table left. A customer that was coming from bathroom let us know that there was one booth open employment to the booth where we went to go sit. At the time there was only three workers that were busy. But as soon as we sat down and they seen that we were there a tall older gentleman sweet as can be walked over greeted us felt like family. He made sure we had menus and this was not even his section. As we decided what we wanted to eat and young lady came over also extremely nice that are food and drink order. FYI the food was totally awesome. As we started to get full a lady that just came in make sure we were okay and if I needed any to-go containers. I was so pleased with the service at this Waffle House that I made sure that everyone that came into contact with me how to tip! That was the best service that I've ever had at any Waffle House and I love Waffle House. It did not feel like they were going above and beyond it just felt like this was something that they normally do and it was a team effort. So, they were busy, but not slammed. I'm patient, and the waitress came by quickly enough. I ordered an omelet, cheese grits instead of hash browns, and a biscuit with a side of gravy. The omelet, to their credit was good, probably even a little larger than usual. The grits were also a generous portion, but they were lukecool at best. The order came out with toast which indicated to me, even though I didn't specify toast, the waitress decided to charge me for a full order of biscuits and gravy and not simply the side of gravy I ordered. She scraped the last of the gravy out of their serving pan to put on the biscuit, and disappeared into the back to get more because there wasn't enough apparently. The gravy was stone cold. Between the order screw up, the cool grits, and the cold gravy, I just lost my appetite. I tried to pay, but also to their credit, the manager wouldn't take my money. I won't knock this place too hard, but you probably need to ask them to bring hot food...

We're at waffle house around 1a.m. food was great! We walk in see the one cook and he's slinging food so fast the waiter can barely read fast enough to keep up with the cook, the waitress is running back and forth so fast she was working up a sweat... but the male waiter he had to have been new, after we came in the door he said sit any where we like while all the seats needed to be bussed, then he goes over to the register and just stands there... a little while later, he is still at the register, and a crowd of 7 people walked in while at least 5 were still waiting to be seated. I know they were down one server, but bus the tables, do some dishes, seat some paying customers... don't just stand there! This boy definitely needs some...
