Where to begin. It's the kind of Mexican food I'd expect in hell, but I was in Oklahoma, so close enough.
Tortillas and pre packaged butter spread? Is that a thing? The cheese sauce... Let's back up. I'm not sure what it was. I'm not sure it was supposed to be queso. It was liquidy and yellowish, so I made the mental leap to queso. It tasted like butter and Velveeta, heavy on the butter. With little bits of red things for texture. The salsa was canned diced tomatoes, seasoning not applied. Or maybe it was spicy for Del City, OK. Who knows.
The food. It was food-like. I ordered the Puerco Lindo. It was probably puerco, but it wasn't lindo. It was Salisbury steak. Not a variation of, or a Mexican take on it. It was Salisbury steak. Served with gray refried bean paste and Ryce®. I assume it was proprietary at least, because it wasn't what I know rice to be. They must have an onion patch out back too, since most of both my and my girlfriend's plates were covered in them. Her chicken was also done to the point of jerky. The tortillas were ok, and the water was wet.
It wasn't Mexican food, in any sense of the word. I'm not sure what it was, but it cost money, and that's a shame. Go anywhere else. Anywhere. At all. And if you're going, take the cooks from here with you. They're not living the kind of life they need to, since they're obviously not doing the job they were meant for. I vaguely dislike the wait staff, but it's only because they bring this food to people on purpose. They brought it promptly and were nice, though. I'm sorry that this is the best Mexican food many of you seem to have...
Read moreStaff was friendly. Seating was ancient and could use replacing.
The food was quite delicious as well.
Communication and accuracy is atrocious however. A coworker ordered their fajita meat and veggies "very well done, charred even" and got veggies that were anything but. I mean they looked expertly cooked but not well done at all, literally zero char.
I also ordered a chicken quesadilla and received steak. We were already running very late (half our fault but the food still took forever once ordered) so I just ate it since the kitchen was already dealing with the undercooked fajitas.
I had also asked for sliced avocado (one of their premium sides on the menu) instead of guacamole (also a premium side on the menu). I got quac. It was mentioned, but I never did get the avocado replacement.
The waiter showed up when I was over halfway done eating my meal and had brought me a chicken quesadilla, which I ended up taking to go. Props for that.
I dont think anyone ever got a refill on drinks. I think we all had water, I was ready to suck ice by the end.
No compensation was offered for the mix ups, nor did a manager ever address the issues. I guess I did get a 2nd quesadilla for dinner later, so I can't complain too much. Everyone else seemed fine with their food...
Read moreMy first time eating here and bought my two grand children with me. I had only heard good things from other family members who had ate here before so I was ready to be wowed. We came at dinner time around 6:40 pm and it wasn’t crowded at all. We were quickly seated but rushed to order. The waiter seem agitated that we did not already know what we wanted so he only took our drink orders. When he came back with the drinks, he delivered my ice tea with his hand gripped over the mouth part of the glass and I was instantly disgusted, not good server etiquette skills at all, so of course I never drank it and had it remove from my bill. Then when we ordered our food and it came out, he also bought out someone else’s take home order on our tray. He sat the tray next to our table and delivered the take out order first before serving our food that was sitting at the table right next to us. When we were done eating and stacked our own empty plates to make room to order desert, he delivered the check and picked up the stacked dishes and left us sitting there with the bill. I had to ask the bartender how to pay and she told me to go up front to the cashiers. I was like “wow”. Worst first...
