we love coming to Drifters, not for the food, for the view. we used to come here all the time, I'm not so sure we will be back. first, we walked in and a sign said seat yourself, which we did. but as we walk by a dirty table, a lady screamed at us that it was dirty... I was like "ok... we are passing it to get to another table" when we got to the table and sat, the waitress came, we told her what we wanted, I also asked her to change the tv to a baseball game that was getting ready to start, which didn't happen, then she disappeared for about 20 minutes. my sons drink ran dry; you get a whole 8 french fries with your burger. so beware of that. for a $16 burger you would think you would get more than 8 whole French fries. but it seems like that is a common thing there. when we got the check, I asked the waitress about the "toast" app. I overheard her telling an older couple at a different table about it when we sat down. she blurted out "I don't know anything about it" well ok. I downloaded it back in March of 2024 when we ate there. it said I had $11 and change in rewards. I asked her to scan the QR code. she refused saying she didn't know anything about it. and it has to be linked to a card. which it was. it was the card we paid the meal with. she stated that when she ran the card that it would give her an option to redeem the rewards. well, well, well she comes back and says it didn't give her the option and my card was not linked. it was and I verified. she walked away and screamed "it has to be the same exact card" to the whole restaurant which was very rude. she talked down to use like we were stupid. so now I don't have point for today's visit ($80 worth) and I didn't get to use my rewards. why are you promoting this "toast" app if no one knows how to use it, when when you ask about it they are blatantly rude about the whole thing. very condescending remarks from her, I don't appreciate being talked to like I'm stupid when I know what I'm...
Read moreWe always came here when it was blackwater inn. We had our usual party of 7. I seen they had their special for a Thursday night as prime rib. My husband and I love to get prime rib on the first night of the special. We were so excited and sadly disappointed 😞. We seen the had oysters and crab legs on the menu also.
5 of us got the prime rib. Only 1 of them was decent. Mine was supposed to be medium and it came out cold with a huge baked potatoand asparagus. Mine didn't come out with the asparagus. I sent it back and they literally thru my steak back on the grill and brought me a well done steak back. My husband's was supposed to be med rare and it was also cold. He decided to for-go the steak and eat his crab legs. The crab legs were ice cold 🧊. He sent them back and they did bring him new hot crab legs. The other 2 steak meals were also cold. 1 decent prime rib med rare and warm was delivered. 1 other person also got crab legs and they were cold. The crab legs come as crab legs only. No sides at all. 1 pound $30 I ordered the steamed oysters. They were over steamed. The ahi tuna was ordered and you could definitely tell it had been cut and refrigerator hours before. It was not fresh. The remodel really opened the place up. We spent $270 on dinner and most of us lefted still hungry. I went home and eat 2 day old Chinese that was more palatable.
Their menu is to large and doesn't carry an Irish theme. You would think a special would be cook to perfection. The potatoes are huge but that's the only thing that's edible. Really had high hopes for this place. If they ould scale down their menu and get a better cook, we might come back. But I doubt it! Castaways will be our spot. They also have prime rib specials and...
Read moreWe had a nice lunch on a Friday, in September 2023 at Drifters Riverfront Bar & Grill. We sat at a nice window seat down stairs, over looking the docks and the river. There was even a nice view of the bridge. I will keep this review to the downstairs itself, as we never went up onto the rooftop bar. We arrived and went into the dining room downstairs, where we were told to seat ourselves. We chose the window seat as the river and such view, gave it a nice atmosphere. We had a wonderful waitress named Cat. She was a delight to meet and be our server. The wife ordered clams and I went with chicken wings and a nice cold Yuengling. The food was pretty good. So yes we would return when in the area. I made the mistake of ordering ten wings, which filled my belly. But had I only ordered five wings, I could have had a nice slice of peanut butter pie. My bad. We sat and ate watching the water traffic, as well as the rumble when traffic crossed the bridge. We had two boats and a small personal water craft, visit the docks at drifters for some food and drink. So we finished, paid the bill and were on our way. But silly us. We walked away and left an item in plain sight at our table. But Cat chased us out to the parking lot to make sure it was returned. I told you she was wonderful. She saved us a drive back to retrieve it. And if you read this Cat, thank you for everything. All in all, Drifters is not perfect. But it is what we expected and went there for in the first place. It's a nice eatery with lots of character and scenery, decent food at a fair price. It's not five star dining. But its a nice place for an enjoyable meal if you prefer comfortable and enjoyable over a fancy five...
