the Cake Sisters — Restaurant in Delaware City

I called this bakery to order a specific type of cake and wasn't presented with the options I had for this cake and they made the cake in a way that was too sweet and the three people that were having it could not finish their first piece.

I called and spoke with the ower (Fluff) who said to me, that happens because you ordered last minute and this is what you told me to make. I said, you could have told me the options, etc so it wouldn't had been too sweet and not-eatable. She said, "this is what I ordered and because I ordered last minute."

I told her many people order last minute and if there are options with making the cake better, why not share it?

Instead, we were stuck with a cake that we were not able to enjoy and was told we cannot got a refund or not even half of our refund back. No ifs or buts...

Please be CAREFUL buying from this place because if you ordered last minute or you should have been advised about the cake ingredients, but they didn't take the time or care to advise you, you WILL NOT get any refund.

This place only cares about making their money and not about how the customers feel or experience with their purchase of a cake for that special event.

On May 3rd of 2024 our son was getting married at a venue in Rehobeth. His bride to be and himself tried in many attempts to contact the bakery down south in this area as they were contacted earlier in 2023, to get their order in so their cake would be there for the wedding. As the time got closer we decided to call cake sisters as my wife had dealt with them in the past. Well all I can say is cake sisters is the best. With 4 months to go they really stepped up to the plate. They even did a dessert bar for us. Even though the venue was being hard about the delivery time and using their refrigerator they did what they had to do to make their day special. Everyone love the way the cake tasted and the way they decorated it. The desert bar also tasted fantastic. We have nothing but great things to say about cake sisters. Thank you all so much for your help and being the true professionals that you are for being a great bakery.

The Cake Sisters in Delaware City are a family owned talented and professional bakery that created our perfect wedding cake.  We so much enjoyed working with the family to decide on our cake decorations and flavor.  They made the entire process fun and stress free.  On the day of our tasting we experienced a focused one-on-one meeting to help us decide all the attributes we were looking for in our dream cake.  We were so impressed with the wide variety of flavors offered.  All of our guests raved about the texture and flavor of the cake.  Additionally, due to shipping issues, our custom cake topper did not arrive on time --but the Cake Sisters jumped in to save the day.  They created a one-of-a-kind custom cake topper that we will forever remember.  We look forward to trying more of their delicious flavors in the future and would highly recommend the Cake Sisters to anyone looking for a truly special...
