Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Delaware

Worst experience I've ever had at an Outback restaurant. My family of 5 went in for dinner after my daughter's softball game. We were sat quickly as it was not busy at all but waited FOREVER for our waitress to come and take our drink order. After the drink orders were taken, it took FOREVER for them to make their way to the table. We did not order cocktails. We ordered sodas.

On my way back to my table from the bathroom, I saw a collection of servers commiserating about wanting to get cut because it was "so dead" in the restaurant and then one cheered loudly when she found out she was cut. Inappropriate.

When it comes to the food, appetizers were good and up to normal standard. Unfortunately, our steaks were 0 for 3 in terms of how they were prepared with regard to the temperatures we ordered them at. My girlfriend's steak was ordered at medium and came out medium well, my daughter's steak was ordered medium rare and came out medium, and my steak was ordered medium and came out almost raw! We started playing "musical steaks" passing them from one to the other trying to make the best of the situation. My daughter took my steak because hers was too over but my " medium" steak was so under that she couldn't even eat it even though she likes hers medium rare. At this point I had to go search for my server to get her to take my daughter's steak back. By the time she finally got a new steak, it was actually cooked medium instead of medium rare and we were all done eating our dinner. She was so frustrated and hungry she just ate it even though it was wrong again.

Throughout the dinner, when we needed things like refills or napkins we had to rely on the food runners or get up to find the server ourselves. I would understand if the restaurant was busy but it was almost empty. This is just flat out bad service. If you're looking to go out for a steak dinner, I would highly recommend you go somewhere else. Outback isn't fine dining but it's not cheap. The Rib Eye Steak my husband and I shared was Great! Small blooming onion was perfect for the both of us. Cookie and the Cake were both sent back as they were hard as a rock. Before I sent it back as the Manager was walking by I asked him why it was so hard and we couldnt get our fork through it, he said "I dont know" and kept in walking. I couldn't believe it. So why we were waiting ofe our Server, by the way was running the bar and the tables at the bar! This girl had it together and knew what she was doing. Why we were waiting there were 3 young women Servers stand behind our table and they were talking about the Patrons and one woman sent her steak back because it was rare and they were talking about her and apparently she sent t her second steak back and they were talking about it still being rare and they werent catering to her no reason she cant eat it rare. I got so upset I told our Server how good she was but these girls and there was a guy Server and then the Manager talking about this woman. She was upset and went and got the Owner. We told him about Everything including the cake. He was so apologetic and gave us 2 10.00 coupons to come back. He said he is in the back cooking so he doesnt know what is going on up front all the time so if someone doesnt let him know it will continue to happen. Forget the food if you come to outback you know what you are getting. You are getting excellent food. Done, food was great as expected. Let’s move on to service which makes the difference anywhere you go. Never been to Outback I first visited the one near Sesame place and it was great. This was my first visit here and we were very pleased with the service. The food was ready fairly quickly, tasted amazing. Donnavon was our server. I’m literally writing this review outside Outback. Not only was he courteous but extremely knowleadgeable of his craft. Being someone that is a tech person I appreciate people that are knowledgeable of their jobs and not just there making a buck. My wife asked for a steak that would be tender because she’s not looking to chew too much (she has a headache). Donnavon unloaded a phetora of information on us. I was sitting there smiling while looking at my menu. This gentleman in specific is a pro and took his time making sure we chose a good steak, ensuring we had a great experience. I believe customer service is something Outback prides about, my experience at Sesame place was different than similar restaurants but this one stands out.
