My husband and I wanted some THAI food: Panang Curry, to be exact, on our way back from NYC yesterday. So we stopped by this restaurant.
The place was empty, gloomy, old - like hmmm; hard to explain wo being a turn off [I typicallyget turned off w establishments univiting entrances] , cold [extremely tiny space heater was running] , and could use some esthetically upgrades.
Pros: The panang Curry was delicious... next time, I will definitely say wo or grind/chop finer w the 🥜. The level (1) one spice was JUST enough for my palette and will rebalanced the gut biomes for sure.
There are a few items: pineapple fried rice, a red curry dish, and the mango guava cheesecake, just to name a few. Oh, I would definitely try next time!
Cons: they were very expensive for our carryout order. Over $70.
The 🍤 shrimp wontons were fried a little too long/smelled burnt, and the color was NOT what I expected. They could ALSO use some green onions and / or ADD some cream cheese (like a crab ragoon dish) for a more desirable taste. Honestly, they were just blah.
The staff was very kind and appreciated our patience with having to tell them our order multiple times. Im guessing that they have a new pos system, and they were getting acquainted with the screen options, etc.
In addition, I love seeing when businesses display a small ACT of kindness and generosity to the less fortunate. Without saying too much about what I observed, let's just say WE would hope that guy was honest about his humbled [reasons] ... they gave an older gentleman who didn't have the means a FREE meal. That sold me immediately...
We DO still have caring souls here in today's society. It put a smile on me ❤️ when I saw and overheard the interaction. 😊
I will certainly go back when that THAI food wants resurfaces in my...
Read moreOrdered meals here several times and it’s a medium size restaurant with sit down dinner tables nothing fancy just simple. The restaurant itself is a bit dated and the entrance hall is very univiting and needs cleaning up a lot. The place has a bar without beer dispensers that you would normally see in a bar . It’s good for those who want to enjoy beverages . I’ve visited Thailand many times and I really enjoy authentic Thai food and you get the Thai taste in the food here which is different to Chinese . It could be even better if they stopped frying the shrimp blankets in oil that has been used too much because the oil then starts to stay on the food and it tastes bad because it’s oil that is very used . It’s horrible for your stomach too . Their chicken drunken noodles and beef drunken noodles could do with a bit less oil and and bit more than three pieces of sliced meat. You tend to end up with a big lump of noodles which has not separated totally and three pieces of chicken or beef. It was very good when we first ordered but the consistency is being lost and complacency is setting in . When this happens it’s not a very good sign and it does affect customers returning. The amount of oil in the food needs to be a bit less and oil should be changed frequently otherwise old used oil sticks to fried food and it totally ruins the meal and health. The people here are very polite ,respectful and helpful . Sincerely hope they will see my comments as constructive feedback because these are not unreasonable observations. I will definitely come back once more and hopefully the food will not be swimming in too much oil and fried food will be cooked in good...
Read moreFor Now I’m only giving a 4 star based on the food I tried and I look forward to go back to see if that rating will change. I tried the honey 🍯 Roasted ducks and it was good and just a bit too sweet. The Thai spicy fried rice I got with the duck was a bit sweet and very different from the regular Thai Spicy fried rice. I also Tried their calamari and it was good just that the tempura batter made it super breaded and there’s no variety as to getting the squid and some veggies to make it interesting, it’s very monotone and you can get tired eating the same flavor over and over. Their crispy wings with spicy 🌶sauce is not so very spicy and also the wings are tempura and does are not that flavorful unless you eat it with the sauce. I ordered the Thai Spicy fried rice with heat level 5 and that was really good and by far the best I’ve tasted so far, and was very interesting that it had some calamari as part of the sea food combo. In my next visit I look forward to try the soups and look forward to share my experience with you. And I did curb side order they almost forgot I was there if I did not call a second time. This review is just to share my experience so your experience may be different than mine because of your taste buds however I’m just sharing mine. I do look forward to go back to check out other items in their menu until I find what I like. Ohh 😯 I almost forgot the mango 🥭 sticky rice 🍚 is pretty good just a bit too sweet again but if you enjoy sweet dessert it’s...
