Very very disappointed. Many people have talked about Snappy's to the point of legendary status. Claiming astounding food, phenomenal portions, and overall unforgettable flavors. So today I decided to give it a try for a late lunch for my wife, oldest daughter, and myself. And nearly $70 later I can safely say, I am wildly disappointed.
The cheesesteak. American cheese slices, with some steak ums thrown on top. Plopped on top of the most bland white and mushy roll possible. The meat was dry yet the roll was soggy, how does that even work? And hardly the, "you can't finish it all" portion that was bragged about. Was a bit bigger than a hot dog.
The fries. Some undercooked, flavorless, super soggy, basic Ore-Ida crinkle fries. Not even salted. Just disgusting. Ate 3 and threw the rest in the trash.
The Crab Balls. Not the worst, but have no idea how much they cost. Wasnt priced on the menu and you dont get an itemized receipt. But I can safely say they cost more than they were worth. Mushy and fell to pieces the moment you touched them.
The Crab Dip Bread Bowl. No. Some soggy, undercooked sour dough bread, with a scoop of frozen crab dip thrown on top with cheddar. Very clearly microwaved. And if it wasn't microwaved, then that is even more concerning. In no way is this a bread bowl, more like a bread slab. Again no prices.
The Crab Cream Soup. Revolting. I am not even sure what this was made from. My wife took 2 bites and felt disgusted. I tried it as well. Horrible. It taste and looks like thick vanilla pudding with what appears to be thinly shreaded chicken in it. The crab? That was a little bit tossed on top with a spoonful of Old Bay.
The only thing that was totally eaten was the crab balls. And thats because everyone in the house tried 1. The rest ended up in the garbage.
This was nearly $70 completely wasted on food that was on par with a gas station. Needless to say I am pretty irritated, and again absolutely disgusted.
I would never recommend eating this food. And really wish I could get...

*Of course there are flies; it's Delaware farm country, between March and November.
*'Large portions with little taste'... too bad the AMPLE portion was void of flavor. Salt and pepper are on the table, and they'll bring you anything else you might want, from ketchup to red pepper flakes. Take home the extra food that you couldn't eat and make it to your liking tomorrow morning.
*"Dripping AC vents." Yep. It's humid and the air works. Yes, they could maybe replace the ceiling tiles. But it's comfortable.
Now, regarding MY meal... I came in for breakfast on a Thursday around 9 am. Corned beef hash, eggs, home fries (crispy) and toast. Coffee and water. Waitress was pleasant, capable and prompt with the coffee refills. Took about 20 minutes for the cooked-to-order food; nothing tasted like it had been precooked EXCEPT, perhaps, the hash. It was a little dry and very mushy. Still had a good flavor, though! Nice, if crowded, atmosphere. Several families with small children, a couple groups of older folks, and a few solo diners like myself were enjoying the morning... I highly recommend Snappys for breakfast, and look forward to coming in for a lunch sandwich. Only open until 2 pm, so plan...
Read moreSmall place so we had a wait. We had a cozy bench we sat on while we viewed the extensive menu.....it all looked so good! Crab balls, fried clams, steamed shrimp and more. Just when I thought I knew what I would order, I saw something else that caught my eye! I actually told my date that who ever created the menu took a lot of care in it from a patron's perspective. There was so much variety. The staff and other patrons welcomed us and another patron actually let us know a booth was open as soon as he saw us waiting. I had the grilled tuna, baked potato and green beans. It did not disappoint. The baked potato was cooked perfectly and I didn't even need any of the butter or sour cream. My date had the Shrimp PO Boy. It had fried fish and jumbo fried shrimp. He said it was delicious and it was huge! I mean the sandwich couldn't even close! We were in the area because my daughter attended the #TimTebowFoundation #NightToShine event at #HeritageShores. My date got a slice of one of their many homemade cakes. I would definitely return to Snappy's. Thomas Jefferson aka "Snappy" came over and introduced himself to us! He was working hard along with the rest of...
