I recently ordered a soup to go, a roast beef sandwich , some tuna, bread pudding and a couple of other food items. When I got home and took the bag out my car, to my surprise and dismay the soup container had melted and the lid had sunk into the container. The soup had spilled inside the plastic bag as well which soaked the wrapper of our sandwich, and my other items. I quickly carried the bag into the kitchen and into the to the sink . It was a mess. I promptly called In Good Taste and spoke to the young woman that took care of my order and told her what happened and that I had taken photos. I did not want a refund for the soup, I was calling to let them know so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else in the. I figured I would give them a chance. The young woman told me the next time I came in to show the photos of the soup and she was apologetic over the phone. Today, I went back to order a few things and I saw the young woman and showed her the photos, I also gave her an order for a few things while she went and got the owner/ manager. I showed her the two photos of the container and the owner had the audacity to ask me if I had put the container into the microwave. She was not apologetic, she was defensive as if I was possibly at fault. What a stupid remark to ask if a piping hot container that melted in the plastic bag on the way home was then put into a microwave. This owner Chef Stacey lacks customer service and incredibly rude. There are plenty of other small businesses right in the same strip to support like Anna’s Killer Empanadas, Proper Ice Cream and the fabulous French Bakery L’atelier Des Pains that makes incredibly delicious sandwiches and pastries. The owner lacks business acumen besides customer service etiquette. and was Stupidity at its best. I walked out of the store canceled my order I placed . I would give In Good Taste a minus 5 stars if I could . Support other small businesses that are friendly and value their loyal customers. In Good Taste Cafe left a really Bad Taste!!I will never recommend them to my friends, the community I live in. Somehow Chef Stacey you failed miserably in how you addressed this,...
Read moreOrdered all kinds of appetizers and only saw the least expensive ones to make served. I had to ask a server where the lobster rolls and panko fried shrimp I had ordered were and she brought some right out. Few guests confirmed they only saw those higher priced appz offered late into the cocktail hour after I voiced my complaint. Felt I was taken advantage of by the size of filet at my tasting and the size of the filet served at my wedding. Stacey should have showed me at the tasting what size would be served to my guests if they were to differ at all. I call that dishonesty, lack of customer service, and lack of concern for the customer. I was embarrassed that some of my guests literally had scrap ends of filets on their plate to eat. It was a small plate menu, however the filet was the main course that should have had at least 3oz of meat on it at the very least. This put me in a very bad mood during my dinner, but my wedding planner was able to calm me down and assure me that she would handle it. Thought each person would receive a plated dessert with small treats- nope! Small plate for entire table to share. The most insulting part of the ordeal was my amazing and delicious $1,000 cake was literally thrown away (another vendor made it). Most of my guests told me they had one bite, danced a song or two, came back to their table and saw the cake was thrown away. My DJ was great and had people on the dance floor, but that is not a reason to prematurely throw out cake that sat on the table for less than 30 minutes. A guest told me they saw the catering servers pick up uneaten pieces of cake into the trash.WHY??!! Throw everything but the cake and forks to breakdown if needed, but don't disrespect me by quite literally tossing out my money. Other than that food and presentation were on point. Would consider doing business with her again but would need to set clearer expectations to not be...
Read moreThis caterer was a nightmare to work with. She was so overwhelmed with other clients and her "reputation", which in according to so many reviews I have found after the fact is horrible, that she did not have time for me. I requested numerous times to pay my bill in advance. I requested that I receive NO bill not he day of the event so I could enjoy my daughters Bat Mitzvah, and that is why I specifically wanted to pay her in advance. I requested her to call me after needing to change the quantity of guests numerous times and her fees kept changing, her math skills sucked, and she couldn't even pick up the phone to fix the situation. She sent me emails from some random person that I had never spoken to nor had a contract with. The truth of the matter is had I not already paid her 98% of the bill I would have canceled. Her professionalism is atrocious and she had the audacity to demand extra $ after the fact and tell me she has a family of lawyers to take me to small claims court. There was o way I had more guests because I only sent out 100 invitations including children and only had 75 ADULT guests total. She tells me that she didn't know kids would eat - at a Bat Mitzvah??? Who else would eat???? it's a KIDS party. This woman knows NOTHING about business when it comes to catering, and come to find out she has burned MANY bridges along the way. The food was good but she did not supply 70 people worth which is what I paid for, and the aggravation of dealign with a nit wit was far worse in business than I could ever ask for. With more reviews like this, and the one prior to me, I would-be hard pressed to think shed be in business for along time, and if she is it is probably because she's litigious for her unethical practices! Do NOT use...
