I ordered from here on Doordash and called the restaurant tonight to speak to a manager. Naturally, they sounded nervous when they came to the phone. But what I wanted to express to him, and to also tell everyone else reading this, is that people...don't walk, RUN straight into this restaurant! I have been to many Indian restaurants between Daytona Beach and Orlando, eaten at a few multiple times, and none of them so far have come close to the flavor and quality of the food I have had from Mr. Chef Indian Cuisine. Recently transplanted from Canada six months ago, the group here has brought a fresh, vibrant taste to the local food scene. It's so good, that I fear it won't hold long in Deltona, having to move it's operations to the trendy Orlando area if they realize just how good they are. The flavor combinations in many of the dishes are unlike anything we've been offered in many of our standard area restaurants. Their Indian fusion is mind-blowingly good. Chinese flavors mix in some of their dishes, such as the chili paneer, a sticky-sweet combination of paneer dressed sweet and sour style. Try other flavor fusions, such as their stuffed chili-cheese naan. Or cure your sweet tooth with their their sweet, dessert-like peschawari naan, which comes filled with nuts, raisins, coconut, and sugar. They have an extensive list of vegetarian options to cater to all meatless eaters out there. Move over, 5th Element. Goodbye, Taste of India. Kohinoor, you fell from grace a while ago. And Mr Chef Indian Cuisine has certainly come to pick up the tattered pieces you left behind and elevate the cuisine back up to its former glory--and then some. As far as I can tell, they have no equal within at LEAST a 40 mile radius. Try them now before they start having to book reservations! All you foodies out there, add this unassuming location to your little black book, and thank me later. But thank Mr Chef even more! This is my new go-to Indian restaurant, and I am forever thankful that I only have to go right across a bridge now to get it! Roll up your sleeves, Chef! You're about to get a WHOLE...

I am so impressed, and grateful that this establishment exists here in Deltona. I grew up & lived here most of my life. For the majority of that time the food scene has been uninspired, underwhelming, and lacking in both culture & flavor. I now live about an hour away but come to visit my parents here often. On a recent visit I was searching for something different to try when I came across Mr. Chef—and had suddenly remembered a friend mentioning this restaurant some time ago. I decided we had to try it, and we were ALL thankful that we did! I ordered online and drove over to pick up for take-out. It was a simple transaction. It was Saturday night and they were busy (a great sign), but I was greeted warmly immediately upon entering & attended to promptly. I was told I would have to wait about 15 minutes more for my order to be completed, and was very kindly thanked for my patience. Honestly, I was so excited I didn’t mind waiting at all as it only added to the anticipation. Moreover it was actually only about 10 more minutes. Regardless—it was worth the wait, and then some! The food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. We ordered a variety of dishes across categories. Every single thing was prepared with quality & care, and was SO satisfyingly delicious. It filled the literal and metaphorical void that existed in our bodies & minds 🙏🏻 We will be patrons from now on, and we are very happy to support this local restaurant/business. I recommend Mr. Chef with the utmost enthusiasm to anyone who is familiar with & enjoys the amazing depth of flavor & profile of Indian cuisine, as well as to those who may just be seeking something fresh & different from the the typically tired & bland offerings in the area. Do yourself a favor, give this restaurant a try!

To Mr. Chef: My sincerest thanks to the entire team of people who worked so hard to make this restaurant a reality, and who continue to work tirelessly with talent, drive & love to bring something truly wonderful & fulfilling to our little corner of the earth. Please, don’t leave us any time...

Great Service and Flavors, but Some Dishes Could Be Better

I recently dined at Mr. Chef's Indian Cuisine and had a delightful experience overall. One of the first things that stood out was the convenience of front-row parking.

The manager was incredibly nice and insightful regarding dietary restrictions. As someone with lactose intolerance, I was impressed with how accommodating they were. For my dish, the “Chef's Special Chicken Curry,” they substituted milk with coconut cream, ensuring I could enjoy it without any issues. The dish was flavorful and tasted very fresh, though next time will substitute the chicken breast with chicken thighs just because the chicken breast was a little dryer inside.

My husband ordered the lamb, and it was equally flavorful!

We dined inside, but the restaurant also has a beautiful outdoor ambiance with tables and string lighting. The pricing was reasonable, around the $15 mark, which I found to be excellent value for the quality of the food.

Another highlight was the flexibility in customizing my meal. Despite bell peppers and onions not being part of the original recipe, they happily added them for me at no extra charge. Our server was cautious about how spicy the mild options could be for some customers and recommended we have the spicy sauce on the side so we could control the heat level, which we very much appreciated. They also substituted my buttered rice (that comes with each meal) with naan bread without butter, allowing me to enjoy my meal without needing lactose pills. This level of attention and care was much appreciated.

Overall, I highly recommend Mr. Chef's Indian Cuisine. It's a small establishment with bold flavors, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience, though some dishes could benefit from a bit more attention...

So glad to finally have an Indian restaurant in West Volusia. As unassuming as this restaurant is in Deltona Plaza, they have a lengthy menu with so many options, the only major suggestions I can come up with is that it would be cool if they offered a small lunch buffet and that I wish they had a sampler platter! I think everyone knows butter chicken, so it's a universal "safe bet", which means that only one of us is usually adventurous with our pick, so we have one meal we love even if the other is not a fave. We went a little over the top with menu selections this time around since it was our first visit and we wanted to show our support and appreciation for exposing a new food option culturally to our community, but there was seriously not anything we didn't like. The prices were fair, and the portions were very generous - definitely shareable. The naan basket was FULL, the kids chicken nuggets and chips actually came with fries (which my kid and my pocketbook appreciated), and I LOVE that it came with butter chicken sauce for dipping to introduce the kids to something other than ketchup in an otherwise boring American kids meal. The spice could have been kicked up a notch on my chicken vindaloo, but it was still very tasty. They provided recommendations and information about how the meals were prepared and the differences between variations of similar dishes. If I'm being honest, I prefer the samosas and the onion pakora at Persis, but when drive time and cost are factored in, I would still choose Mr. Chef nine times out of ten. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that the service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I hope Mr. Chef sticks around for many years to come. Would be awesome if they could open a second location in DeLand sometime down the road. Definitely give it a try!

Moving to Deltona from Winter Park, we noticed there wasn’t a diverse type of restaurants here. Located in the Deltona Plaza, Mr. Chef Indian Cuisine opened today, April 17th, 2024. We love good Indian food and had to try it out! You can call into order or order directly on their website. Ordering on their website is an absolute breeze. The menu is very easy to read and understand and it is laid out in a very aesthetically pleasing manner. The prices are what I would except and very in line with food in this area. It’s definitely pricing that I would expect from an Indian Restaurant. I placed my order online for paneer, butter, masala, butter chicken, butter naan, and garlic green chili naan. Next to the butter chicken, I asked for it to be spicy. The website said that it would be ready in 30 minutes. About 15 minutes or so after ordering, we were packing up to leave the house when I received a call stating the food was done. Upon arriving, the restaurant was easy to see in the plaza as it has a large red sign. It is on the far right side of the plaza. I went inside to retrieve my order. The inside is very clean and modern. The lady behind the counter was very nice and the service was quick. The food smelled divine! I couldn’t wait to dive in after opening it! Everything was so delicious! The butter chicken had spice, like we asked for. It had great flavor. Both of the naan’s were delicious. The garlic green chili one definitely has some heat behind it - the flavor is amazing. The paneer butter masala was very mild in spice but incredibly flavorful. I’m so happy that Deltona has an Indian Restaurant now and even more excited that the food is so delicious! We’ll definitely be back!
