Yasou Mykonos — Restaurant in Demarest

This place brings disappointment to my mind. Tonight I order a meal that comes with pita, they forget to add the pita so I call back and inform them that they forgot and they apologize reassuring me they will arrive with the food in no time. 20 minutes later, they show up with two slides of pita THAT ISNT EVEN HOT. That is less pita then they normally give when they do not forget! IV worked in the food delivery business before. Whenever a part of a meal was forgotten or an order is wrong we would ALWAYS include an extra treat or at the very least hot food when bringing the remainder of the forgotten food. An example would be extra fries and a sincere apology. These people gave me less pita that was not hot. The disappointment is only beginning; two meat platter meals were ordered yet they only give one serving of sauce which is not enough. How are you going to be stingy with sauce it’s as cheap as it gets. The disappointment doesn’t end there. In another instance I picked up a large order to bring home.. of course you guessed it they didn’t give me any sauce. I call them to let them know and they ask me to come back in and get it. I drive all the way back over and they act like they don’t even remember why I am there. Then they say we will think about if you can have some extra sauce for the inconvenience or not. They eventually decided to give me an extra sauce serving. Gee thanks I had so much fun hanging around waiting for you guys to decide. I had nowhere else to be and how dare I ask them to correct an order. I appreciate the extra sauce which I deserved, but all that extra clutter was not necessary and maybe an apology would be nice. They took zero responsibility and lost a customer. This is the second worst experience IV had with a Greek restaurant. IV seen people come in and complain and now I know why. Absolutely terrible customer service and I am NOT happy. I hope they change and I hope people choose not to pursue such an option that disregards the customer as much as these people do.

(Response to owners comments) I am not complaining about the quality of the food that is what the 2 stars are for. If it’s done correctly there isn’t much of an issue. Working in the same industry, I understand mistakes are made but this was 3 mistakes in my last 2 times ordering. Explain to me why I had to wait 20 minutes for two not even not slices of pita. When mistakes are made I’d hope to at least have more pita to make up for it considering how long it took. My issue was not taken care of. Now moving on to the French fry comment. Whenever orders are wrong it’s normal to throw in something extra as an apology. The fries was just an example as I stated in my initial review. It didn’t have to be fries you guys could have thrown in a normal pita portion or as you said it’s only a dollar. Why not throw in extra. The sauce incident was also ridiculous but that’s covered already. I never said mistakes aren’t made but when they are id hope places actually correct them. Making me wait 20 minutes for an included part of my meal that isn’t even hot does not constitute fixing the problem. I hate to write poor reviews on small businesses but it needs to be done when appropriate. Only reason this is not a 1 star review is because most of the food itself is actually delicious. However their platters (at least for takeout) are severely under portioned and not worth anywhere near $16.

My family placed an order for takeout a few days ago and I myself ordered the falafel platter. We were shocked at the portion sizes and what was included.

Falafel platter literally had 5 pieces of falafel, the sauce and pita. That’s it…. Didn’t get my side. Lettuce was BARELY included, had to use lettuce from my refrigerator. No onions, no tomato, cucumber etc… like you would find at any other Greek place that serves platters. And feta is $2.00 extra charge on an almost $20 VEGGIE platter? Come on.

Another family member got orzo as a side and it was literally just boiled orzo. nothing else added, no seasoning. Not even a drizzle of olive oil.

Again only saving grace was most of the food we ate was tasty. Other than that won’t be coming back here...

My wife ordered a Chicken souvlaki platter on her way home from work. When she got home she opened the container marked chicken platter and it was some sort of meat so she called and the girl that answered the phone acted like she didn’t understand my wife got meat instead of chicken and told my wife to bring it back to show them. I took it back and as soon as I walked in the door I could hear the girl talking about us so I took it out of the bag and opened it and said I’m not a chef but that’s definitely not chicken! She then began to tell me that maybe I shouldn’t order from them if I was so mad I told her I wouldn’t be ever ordering from them again and that I would just order from a place in Tenafly she then said we own that also and I said no not your place Cafe Europe. This immature girl was still talking about me when I was walking out the door sorry to say she’s a brat I’m sure daddy owes the place. I’ll never step foot in either store after the way...
