The food was ok, the menu selection was kinda sparse and being a Bar & Grill called Lazy Lizard, you'd think it would have at least a couple southwest choices. The chicken strips were ok, chicken was juicy, onion rings were ok too. Now if you went to Sam's club, bought the chicken strips and onion rings, you could make the same exact meal. $9 is kinda spendy for 3 strips and about 8 onion rings. I am a margarita aficionado and I will definatly NOT order one of those again! They must either use the cheapest sweet and sour or they make it themselves, but need lessons! The rim salt tasted like and had the texture of regular course grind sea salt and not margarita rock salt. It was too "salty" and margarita lovers will understand that. The iced tea was very strong, a little cloudy and came in a shot glass (well not an actual shot glass, but like 8 ounces) and by the time they poured it and it got to the table, virtually no ice was left. This place was ok, but barely. I really wanted to love it, but couldnt! Cool name, nice space, small, but nice and it didnt translate into...
Read moreBig shout-out to the bartender who worked the room during the Tyson/Paul boxing match. The front desk of the attached hotel was promising to show the fight so several people showed up and filled the place. She couldn’t get the stream to work on the tv so I and several people were pretty perturbed. She didn’t deserve the flack she took because it was Netflix’s fault for providing a shiddy stream and she did everything she possibly could to get it to work. She was a shining example of grace under pressure as she worked to keep all her customers served while trying to get the match on the tv. A lesser bartender would have totally cracked under the pressure. I hope management sees this review and rewards her for her dedication and hard work. (Sorry I didn’t get her name.) Give that woman a raise....
Read moreI travel to and from Taylor, TX back to Phoenix, AZ often and this was a complete "lucky find!" The hotel was fair priced for a big, clean, comfy room with a mid sized fridge and microwave! Good water pressure and a tub to soak after a long drive. But the little "locals" bar open til 11(I think) was fun! Sat at the bar and there were about 5 people already there, so kind and friendly! Included me in their conversation and bought a round! So I returned the offer of another round and now have a cool spot I can look forward to on one of my next drives! Oh, the free breakfast was delicious too! Overall, definitely keeping this in my hotel rotation, and it's Dog Friendly with a nice grassy area with poop bags available. Front desk and breakfast server were so nice! Made it that much better!...
