La Tropicana — Restaurant in Denham Springs

If you’re looking to be ignored and disrespected, this is the place.

My husband and I came in for the first time, excited to check it out, but it quickly became clear that customer service is not a priority here. Two employees and one other couple were inside. Both employees looked up when we walked in, but neither greeted us. One went back to her conversation, the other simply walked away.

We browsed the candies (none of which had prices listed), and after a few moments one of the young women came over and just stood there staring without saying a word. When I finally asked about the price of one item, she dismissively said, “I don’t know, $7.99."That price was clearly unreasonable, and her tone made it worse.

Instead of helping us, she walked away again to rejoin her conversation with the other employee and the couple. It was obvious we were not welcome, and as we left, they laughed among themselves.

For a new business, this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect is unacceptable. If this is how they treat customers, I don’t see them...

The treats were good! We enjoyed the atmosphere and it was clean. Most of the staff were pleasant except the 2 women. For some reason they weren’t as welcoming and friendly. Another customer was checked out right in front of me and after she finished with that customer she just looked at me and walked away. Both women continued to walk past me never offering to check me out. I stood there for almost 10 minutes and had to stop one of them and ask to be checked out. Also I will add there was no line at this time. It’s a shame bc my kids loved this place and I spent over $50 easily and they wanted to come back but that interaction kind of threw me off. I can clearly see from other local guides that this place is absolutely terrible including the service
