Three of us stopped in for lunch. We've wanted to try it out in the past so made today that day. The time--lunch hour. No waiting. Drink self-serve stations or there is a large cooler as you walk in filled with good variety of cold beverages. The menu is not complicated and the prices are pretty average for this day and age. Good portion sizes. In fact, I think we got what we paid for. Two of us got 3 piece fried chicken meal with one side. This includes thigh, drumstick, wing. I ordered cole slaw, M ordered fries. My sis ordered fried shrimp basket. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, crisp, and juicy. It was like my mom's chicken. This was true Louisiana style fried chicken. It did have a kick though. The shrimp basket was fried just write and not too spicy at all. We had to bring home leftovers! At this restaurant, you order at the counter, pay and then sit. The server brings your meal. She's a delight. We met her husband when we were leaving and got to tell them both how much we enjoyed our meal and that we would be returning. They also have a drive through. There were other customers that came through. The restaurant is easy to find on the corner of Coffin and the 91. It's not real busy over there. I will definitely stop by for another meal or pick up for supper for my family. ...

So the wife got a hankering for some fried chicken. (Disclaimer: I like some good fried chicken, but seldom get a hankering.) Anyway, with the (QUALITY) fried chicken selection being limited in the Sherman/Denison area I decided to do a Google search for a fried chicken place. Found a new place called Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken, and with at least a full star better rating than any other chicken place in town, we decided to give it a shot. This is a family owned business and the owners met us under the awning of their covered drive-thru and were friendly and welcoming. They walked us through their menu and took our order promptly. The food was brought out promptly and we headed home. The wife dove into it on the way home and was impressed. When we got home I gave it a shot. I was impressed as well. Everything was very good even after the 30 minute drive home. We will definitely be going back to try out their fish, shrimp and remaining Cajun fare. They've only been here around 5 months, but I think they have a good thing going. I think you're gonna love them. Give them a shot and support small,...
Read moreThis is going to take a minute. Fastway was an amazing place with way too many menu choices. This new place in the building doesn't have that problem. Stormy greeted us and answered questions but seemed a little frazzled. We ordered a chicken breast, 3 tenders and some red beans and rice. Breast was covered in what my wife described as amazingly good batter, maybe just a bit over cooked. Tenders seemed to have a different batter but they were good. Let's discuss those red beans and rice. The beans seemed a bit too dry, they should be kinda like a thick sauce. That said once I smashed them around and got a spoon full they were good, little bland but good.
Interesting things on the menu. Eggrolls Fried rice Ain't no egg rolls in Louisiana but I'll give them a pass if they are really good. I'll try them next time.
The inside is way better than before, it's super clean and I have met the owners at their other place before.
This is a locally owned business and deserves our support, the owner is engaged and is on site to make sure things go good.
This was my first time in since they soft opened and I will return after they are...
