On a whim, decided to try a new (to us) place. This place is Not New. Lol. The entire place is very dated. No real signage to assist in finding it either. After driving around the place we finally parked and walked into what seemingly looked like an old best Western from the early 2000s. Entered to a hotel lobby. The receptionist was kind enough to point us to the bar and grill. A short walk and downstairs and you're there. There were two waitresses and a bartender all in the bar area who signaled for us to seat ourselves. Then they disappeared. About 10 minutes later the waitress appeared again and took our drink order. No drink menu and no specials or recommendations. Got a few bar drinks. They were good, fine. Nothing to write home about but made properly. Ordered the "house chips with dip" its homemade sliced potatoes deep fried, with a Sriracha ranch. No seasoning on the chips which were way over cooked and about 2 oz of sauce in a 6 oz plastic cup. Ordered the wings and a salad. The one thing that was really pretty awesome about this place was that they have the "Noah's dry rub wings" this is in beloved memory of Noah Colbert. He was a friend of mine and even worked for me for a short time in Little Elm several years back. Apparently he had worked for one of their sister locations when he passed suddenly a few years ago. Still to this day they are honoring his memory with his signature rub. That's pretty awesome! The salad was good. Used lots of lunch meats and a spring mix. The wings were way over cooked. Super crispy. To the point of crunchiness. Overall they weren't very good. But to be able to pay homage to an old friend...we'll let them slide. Overall, probably designed for a "captive audience" or those staying at the property. Will likely not return soon. Very dated,...
Read moreThis has got to be the worst service and food I’ve ever had at a resort! The chef doesn’t know the meaning of the culinary term “julienne”, as he simply tore pieces of lunch meat and cheese for my wife’s chef salad. Did I mention that we had to ask for silverware? Even after the salad was delivered? Which happened to only come with a fork, so that my wife had to pick up the chunks and tear them with her teeth to get bite size. My sandwich was supposed to be a pork extravaganza! It had two small pieces of kielbasa, a very thin cut of tough ham, and about two tablespoons of pulled pork. I had to ask for extra bbq sauce, as the cook squirted two little circles of bbq sauce on the top of the bun before he put it together. My Bahama Mama tasted good but I was wondering where the rum was. Switched to Shiner Bock. At least there I know what I’m getting. If you want to spend your afternoon amongst a herd of tattooed twenty somethings and eat terrible food, this is the...
