The wait at the restaurant is a typical 45 minutes and they do not have a buzzer system but a "call you over the PA style approach"...a staffer will call you out the front door into the waiting area. No big deal there but here are the show stoppers: We asked for a large fish plate and as luck would have it they were out of ingredients to make the said dish. We ordered a make it your way pizza for our kids and were later greeted by the waiter that they lacked the ingredients for the pizza's as well. We settled on a salad for the wife, a ruben for one kid and the other a grilled cheese sandwich and our third son some chicken strips...and I a house burger. All in all nothing nothing fancy but we asked for extra plates and...did not get them. We also did not get silverware for 15 minutes after the meal was served and there is no rhyme or reason why they don't provide that while they present your water or refills. The wait to get our food was horrible. The quality of the food (the salad for example had chicken as bad as subway) where the chunks have hard sections you cannot eat. Read moreSuch potential... Unfortunately, The Island is only hitting on 7 cylinders. Great facility. Great views. Plenty of parking by land or water. The management is either not experienced or they simply can't find good employees. We have tried this place several times. Every time has been the same experience. Very young waitress who thinks she is doing you a favor by bringing you food that is barely mediocre. And not trained at all. No initial drink order request. Way to long to get a drink. Forget about getting an appetizer... And when the meal shows up you your are so tired of sitting that all you want to do is eat fast and get out. The food is not scratch made. It's what we call tube food in the biz. After you finish and just want to go you can't! It isn't possible because the waitress is always too busy having a great time with her friends. Haley Sanders, the only question I have for you is, “Why did you feel the need to label our table but not any of your other tables? “ When we received our check, our tabled had been named “Mexicans/4”. I checked the tab of the table next to us and theirs’ read “Guest”. When we asked Haley why she went out of her way to do such a thing , she giggled and replied that she was half Mexican. Management Team, Haley is a clear representation of what your restaurant believes in - that racism and stereotypes still exists. Thank you Ryan, “The MOD,” for not caring about how your customers felt and only caring about defending your server.
