First of all, service was awesome! Lisa was very friendly and accommodating, and knowledgeable of the menu. The highlights of the evening were: the mussels for an app, which were decadent and delicious; the chai creme brulee for dessert, which surprised me by being subtle in its chai flavoring and very tasty. I had a lovely 9oz pour of their cab, which was great for the price. I also had a hot buttered rum, perfect for the chilly evening, and the bartender crafted it perfectly; sweet and thick, with a homey rum aftertaste.

For the critiques: our entrees were....very...sweet? Overall? My partner had their duck breast, which had opening flavor notes that were reminiscent of french toast. The breast itself was not quite seared enough, and the pumpernickel spaetzle just added to the soft sugary feel of the dish. For some reason, gingerbread was a prominent note in this meal, which I understand as a creative impulse, but just made it far too sickly. My rosemary scented gnocchi was too mushy, and also too sweet; the wine used for the sauce was not bitter enough. In conjunction, the leeks and mushrooms mixed in with the gnocchi did little to compliment the dish, and only added to the general chewing I had to do. My partner also had the Lucky Lyon drink, which was a confusing mix of bitter beer and even more bitter rum and blackberries; the lemon only added to bite your tongue before sinking into the baffling dark taste of the drink.

All in all, lovely atmosphere, even lovelier service, and great start and finish to a meal. They are an incredibly creative addition to Denton; in my own opinion, I would just caution them to steer from the sugar caddy and go more for the salt shaker. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night; we did go on a Monday. I will be back, excited to...

I ate at this restaurant with my family (including my 92 year old grandmother). When we entered the building, I was assisting my grandmother in walking to the table. One of the older male waiters physically tried to PUSH my grandmother and I out of his way TWICE. I was absolutely appalled.

Aside from this occurrence, the experience was rough. The meal was way too expensive for the quantity and quality. 5/6 of my party left hungry and borderline grossed out. (We discussed stopping at Taco Bell on the ride home. As it would have been better and more filling. haha)

It took 75 minutes to get our food. The waitress was neglectful. Before we ordered, my grandmother expressed to the waitress that she was allergic to onions. She had to change her order because she asked if her first option had onions. The waitress neglected to tell her that the choice she switched to also contained onions. She was half way through eating it before she realized small onion pieces of onions were mixed in. The atmosphere was very loud & difficult to hear my party.

The hostess, however, was very lovely. She was nice, easy to work with, and friendly.

We left hungrier than when we arrived, and wasted 2 hours. I have never written a review of a restaurant before, however, I felt as though I needed to share. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my...

What a lovely surprise dinner place to find on our way home from the beach! The restaurant is in a beautiful, quaint town and inside a remodeled historic house. We decided to eat outside on the front porch because the weather was so pleasant. We had the shrimp toast as a starter. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the sauce was the perfect creamy addition, & the bread was delicious! I had the farmer’s pasta for dinner and that was to die for. All of the veggies were fresh & I realized the noodles were gluten free after I ate it. The noodles were wonderful and I would not have guessed! My husband had the burger & he mentioned that it was very fresh, juicy - but not soggy. His fries were fresh, minimally seasoned (he said they may benefit from a bit more salt but it was not a big deal). We both felt great after we ate! We told our awesome waiter Fred that we were celebrating our anniversary & he provided us with a complementary cheesecake - which was outstanding. It was hot honey peach and we were in heaven. So good. We truly loved our experience here! Everything exceeded our...

What an amazing experience! The staff were so friendly and wonderful. They were able to accommodate our large group and provided excellent, attentive service the entire time we were there. The restaurant itself is an adorable, homey setting that has been decorated with care. It felt like we had come to brunch at a friend’s home. Such a great ambiance and amazing food. Everything we ate tasted amazing. I ordered the Eastern Shore Eggs Benedict and enjoyed every bite of it — by far one of the better eggs Benedicts I’ve had. Our party tried almost everything on the menu, from the delightful Continental that provided the perfect light breakfast fare to the delicious flavor combinations of the Monte Cristo to the savory Shakshouka bursting with flavor. I would definitely recommend making this your breakfast spot whether you live nearby or are just visiting the area. I hope to visit again next time I’m near Denton!

A special experience is waiting inside the historic house at Caroline’s! Great food and service. The chic vintage decor and elegant atmosphere is welcoming and unique. The interior is cozy and the outdoor porch seating is spacious. The service was professional and the entire staff was accommodating. Chef Ken uses clean, fresh ingredients to create amazing dishes. So much appreciation for farm to table concept and healthy options. The menu is diverse and enticing. We had the specials including beef short rib onion soup and the grilled ribeye. The crab dip and filet mignon were also delicious. What a treat to include tallow whipped potatoes as a side; very impressive and flavorful. The house made crème brûlée was creamy and not overly sweet; just perfect. It’s a wonderful local gem and worth the drive for anyone who appreciates friendly fine dining with farm to table food and ambience.
