8 Degrees Cafe & Boba — Restaurant in Des Moines

This is a good place when you’re looking for a place to chill and catch up with your fiends. There are plenty of seats and some board game that you could use! It’s really clean here too !

They serve ice cream and bubble tea here. If you love bubble tea, they do have a reward program that you can join and get free bubble tea after a certain purchase. The design of the bubble tea cup is adorable (the lid of the cup is a shake of panda) and you get to keep them ! The server was really nice and friendly. It doesn’t take too long to get your order too. My favorite so far is their match bubble tea with match boba!! Give it a try.

Went there multiple times before, and recently I ordered a drink with no ice & full cup option (they charge extra $0.6 for that) they still gave me a cup full of ice, and I thought it might just be a careless thing so I wasn’t worried about it. BUT few weeks later the second time I went and did another drink with same option they still gave me cup full of ice? Honestly I met similar things at other boba places and they either help me to remove the ice or replaced a correct order for me. If this place doesn’t care what their customer wants in the drink why bother to put those customization options...

In the past, I’ve had a couple problems with this place. Including very slow service, and my black pearls not being served fresh (rather hard not chewy). I can definitely say 8 Degrees Ice Cream and Boba has improved. I am very satisfied with their service especially during the pandemic with everything going on right now. I am pleased that they have pick up in the shop/curbside pickup. If anyone is looking for a place to try boba, definitely come here in Des Moines to try it out.
