Casey's — Restaurant in Des Moines

I can look past the old woman running the cash register yesterday that, without asking if I'd like it or not, in which I DID, crumpled up my receipt and pitched it in the trash. I may have gotten a small bit of enjoyment watching her dig it out and hand it to me in frustration.

What I can't look past is all 3 workers this morning, smoking and having a loud conversation while blocking the front door. When I reached the ten foot point from the door and none of them seemed phased, I chose the door further away. Now, I'm not a pansy, but the principle of the matter is important. First, the dense cloud of smoke I had to briefly walk through was unbecoming, but I suppose it's whatever. However, there's no better way of feeling unwelcome to a business by having ALL its employees so engaged in their cancer stick and conversations that they couldn't acknowledge the approaching customer and move out of the way. Unacceptable, I don't care how you swing it.

Went here to fill up with diesel as their sign said it was 20 cents cheaper ($3.59) than adjacent gas stations. After filling and seeing the total and looked and realized they charged me ($3.79). When I went inside to talk to them about it the cashier and other staff member on duty talked about it, saying it happens all the time, and preceded to go about their business making me wait for 5 minutes. Then when I asked if I could get a refund they said no. Then told me I could call next week and talk to the manager if I wanted.

While I realize I should have caught that the pump said a different price than the sign, the fact that they wouldnt fix the issue, have had the issue before, but also made me wait on them fixing their sign, are all reasons I'll go across the...

This Casey’s location puts Casey’s to shame. The staff acts bothered by customers, never smile and hardly acknowledge you when you are checking out. If you have a question about anything, they act even more bothered and answer with an attitude. I’ve gone to this location for years because it’s close to my work and never had a good experience. The employees will have inappropriate conversations while helping customers that make the checking out process last longer. They get their shipment in the mornings so if you try to go on that morning before work there will be no where to park because it’s the busiest time of the day and not to mention all the employees are helping unload the truck so they are annoyed they have to help customers as well.
