Park Avenue Pub — Restaurant in Des Moines

The Park Avenue Pub has been around forever, well known on the Southside of Des Moines and largely remains unchanged. Still operating under normal pub hours and participating in local pool league tournaments. If you’re looking for fancy, this is not your place. If you’re looking for an old school simple watering hole and place to grab a bite, this is it. Slow service, came in with a few friends. Made eye contact with server, apparently she was to preoccupied with continuing the conversation with her friends. Didn’t approach our table what so ever, we waited well over 15 mins. We decided to leave, as we got up she still did not come to serve us. Instead she looked past us and continued her conversation. We ended up leaving. I’d give this place 0 stars if i could. Will never recommend this place and will tell all friends and families to steer clear. Worst...

I have been here 3 times in the last month specifically to get food!!! For get about it!!!! The 1st time I asked "is the kitchen open?" (NO) The second time I walked in & couldn't even ask about t the kitchen or order a beer, I just left.
