Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Des Moines

Let me summarize... Exception to appalling experience was the nice young man that answered the phone and was behind the counter when I stopped in briefly! He was delightful and I was very grateful that he was wearing a mask.

I ordered a personal pan pizza and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes (yes, these are actual times as I kept checking my clock). It took me those 10 minutes to drive to the store from work. Sign on the storefront that references contactless carry out. I texted the number as indicated and immediately received a text back asking about order info and car description. I obliged to which I received another text stating the order would be out as soon as it was ready. As I sat in my car waiting (which was another 10 minutes) an employee exited the establishment with a delivery order in hand and he proceeded to spit on the ground directly in front of my car and the only entrance to the establishment. I could see interactions amongst staff and, aside from the gentleman at the front counter, no one was wearing masks. After this 10 minutes a second customer arrived and proceeded past the signage on the storefront and entered the store... didn’t know that was an option. Now, 30 minutes since my initial call I entered the store after this customer was taken care of and promptly cancelled my order in response to the exceedingly long wait but more so because of the spitting and appalling hygiene noted with much of the staff.

We used to be excited to order from Pizza Hut... not this one...

This pizza Hut has horrible customer service! The lady answering the calls tonight was so rude! It's not my fault you can't make your orders right, and forget sauces that clearly are advertised to come with food. Tonight I placed an order and my kids got their cheese sticks with no sauce, called the store to ask if they can call the driver and see if he forgot it. Since my kids are picky eaters and require the "red sauce" that comes with cheese sticks!!! Besides I spent over $50 I want it to be exactly right! She tells me cheese sticks don't come with any sauce, and what did I expect. She then told me it's only 60 cents and not a big deal! Really!?! Maybe not to you, it's no big deal to mess up things that aren't yours. I wasn't even upset, until she started being such a b###. Telling me she can credit my account 60 cents because that's what it was worth. What about the sticks that will be cold when you decide to send us the sauce? Nothing. So she's literally sending a driver to my house with sauce, and it's been over 20 minutes now. I most likely won't give it to my kids because they probably did something to it. Not trusting it. Horrible place, rude staff. Done ordering from here, and pizza Hut was our favorite after the way I was treated (not even about absent sauce) I will NOT...

Holy cow! I'm honestly shocked at how bad this food is.

I hadn't had a Pizza Hut pizza in some years, when my wife and I saw the "Triple Treat Box" advertised on TV. She immediately said she wanted Pizza Hut for dinner, and I never turn down a chance to eat pizza, so I ordered one, along with some boneless wings.

The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, both pizza were almost unbelievably dry. I don't know what you have to do to a pizza to make it this dry. The crust was like cardboard, The toppings literally chipped off.

The "cheese bread" was just a mass of burned dough and brown stuff.

The cinnamon rolls were slightly less tasty than the ones that Pillsbury makes.

The chicken was somehow greasy and dry.

I've had better meals in public school cafeterias. Every gas station in town has pizza that is far superior to this slop. I've eaten the cheapest Little Caesar's grab-and-go pizzas. I've eaten Domino's 2 for $6 pizzas. I've eaten Totino's pizzas cooked in a microwave. They were all better than what I received tonight from Pizza Hut.

When I was a kid, Pizza Hut was a huge treat. The pizzas were hot, fresh and delicious. If you have any Pizza Hut nostalgia, you'd better eat there quick. They won't be in business long selling...
