Until recently, I knew nothing about dates. I don't even remember the last time I had a date, but I recently had a date shake on the way home from Arizona, and they are pretty tasty desserts. Dates come from date palms which are pretty remarkable trees. Date palms thrive in the most arid, driest, and hottest places one earth. They tolerate droughts and even salty water. The trees have been around for millions of years and produce seeds that are tough and resiliant as well. Scientist have even grown trees from 2000 year old seeds. The dates, which are the fruits, have been cultivated and eaten for thousands of years in the Middle East and Africa. Dates are also full of fiber and nutrients, and as a bonus pack plenty of power being 80% sugar when dried. The date shake I had was pretty much a vanilla milkshake with dates blended in. The taste was sweet, nutty, and very distinctive. If you have ever been to the Cochella Valley, then you've been to the heartland of dates. Dates have been grown there for years. Some say the date shake was even invented there. So if you are ever find yourself passing though Palm Springs, Morongo, Indio, take a side trip and try a date shake.

The date shakes here are seriously one of the best things available for human consumption on God’s good earth. I’m serious, they might make a cry. And he will stay full for about six hours after drinking one of these things! Has a very faint taste of cappuccino, the date flavor is discernible, but really it just taste like heaven in a cup. If you’re anywhere near Desert Hot Springs or Palm Springs, you owe it to yourself to stop in to this place and grab a date shake!

This is where you can find the best ‘Date Shake in the Desert’. We were recommended to come here after doing our Windmill Tour nearby. We enjoyed our first date shakes here. Delicious. They also have a cute little outdoor patio as well that you can sit at. Customer service here was extremely friendly. I ended up buying a ‘butter scotch root beer’ here as well.

I don't know how many times I drove by this place and never stopped or noticed it. Then 1 day 1 of my friends said to stop by and get a day shake. So we did. We had a date cheek and it was just delicious. Next time I drove by I stopped and tried the pastrami sandwich which was very very good. I also like the little garden in the back where you sit down to eat it has grass and everything very nice little spot. I recommend coming here owners employees and all are very friendly and helpful atmosphere is...
