Our group consisting of 9 people, decided to try this resturant as they offered fresh walleye dinners (one of our group had been craving). We enter the resturant to approximately 7 other people there. Once we entered and asked if we could seat ourselves, a waitress sitting at the bar stated "I'm not on duty yet". We looked over and made the round table work for our family. We started ordering drinks and they stated they had lemonade and then a few moments later the waitress came out and stated "we don't have lemonade. I thought we did but it was hooked up to Margherita mix. I wondered why it tasted so funny". They had no zero drink products. Once the drinks were brought out she started taking our orders and she almost forgot to take one order. Once the waitress put our order in, she came back out and stated that the turkey tomato basil sandwich was not available. Let me mention, there was another order that contained turkey and tomato's, so unsure what about the one sandwich was not available. 45 minutes later one meal at a time started to emerge from the kitchen. During this time, the waitress came out and stated that they only had the ability to make one of the two walleye dinners ordered. Hmmmmmm, that took 45 - 50 minutes to find out? As our young adults started eating the patty melt had hair in it and the chicken was raw inside. One of our guests picked up the chicken tenders dinner and walked it into the kitchen and stated that it was raw. The waitress several times stated she was having a "meltdown" and the owner or manager took no accountability for the lack of service. The owner/manager then came out to the table and stated "im sorry folks, we just aren't cutting it today. I've got a new cook in the back and well......we are just going to comp your meal. Is there anything you'd like us to box up?" This is one extremely good example of piss poor management. One that throws their staff under the bus when things go wrong instead of owning their own part of the incident and authentically apologizing for the mishap. The owner manger also stated to us that "they normally hit it out of the park. When you come back we will get it right." The salad bar contained wilted lettuce. My thoughts....I doubt that with a 3.9 Google rating which will surely decline once this review is posted. This resturant lacks work ethic, accountability, team work, training, leadership and overall communication. The waitress wasn't sure what was even being offered on the menu when taking people's orders. This is by far the WORST experience I've ever had. I wish I would have thought to take pictures. Also, during our waiting for the meal the two kitchen workers came out and ate their lunch, which by the...
Read moreWhile staying at the Holiday Inn, we ordered room service 3 times from the attached Ice House Restaurant. Our first order was appetizers, Artichoke dip, chicken quesadilla, and hamburger sliders, arrived within 10 minutes, delicious and hot. The next day we ordered dinner, burger and nachos. Arrived at our room within 15 minutes hot. Burger was prepared delicious, however nachos we LOADED, LOADED, LOADEd with both red and green peppers. Even though menu advertised peppers, there were too many to eat for even a pepper lover like myself. So unfortunately 90% of the nachos were untouched. Unable to remove because the over abundance of chopped peppers were infused in melted cheese. Breakfast on our 3rd day Walleye Benedict and made to order omelette arrived at our room in 25 minutes warm and fresh. Once again the skillet potatoes were absolutely loaded with green and red peppers, but able to work around them in this meal. Eggs were prepared delicious. Walleye was sadly destroyed with enough hollandaise sauce for 5 dishes! Gross. The seasoning on the walleye was so potent even scraping it off was of no help. However the hash brown side were really delicious. Half of the walleye meal was left swimming on my plate in Hollandaise. We enjoyed the convenience of hotel room service, but contacting the restaurant to place an order is an ABSOLUTE pain! Even after having the front desk's help in attempting to call either the bar or the restaurant it took over a half hour each time we ordered to get anyone to answer their phone in order to place our order. Frustrating. Meals are very expensive, however appetizers and breakfast menu are well worth the price. Just remember to say "light on the peppers!" when you order!! This restaurant has a beautiful outside patio right on the lake's beach, however we chose to have room service in order to eat our meals on our hotel room balcony overlooking the...
Read moreArrived at 9:36 am Sunday morning for breakfast, 6 people in our group. Got seated right away. Our waitress, Gina, told us a few different times that she needed 2 more minutes and then she would be with us and proceeded to converse with other tables or get sidetracked doing another task. It was really strange. We were told that there was a table of 12 coming in and we were trying to get our food order in before they arrived. That unfortunately didn't happen due to our waitress delaying coming to take our order. We had to get our own coffee cups. She had an attitude with us and made us feel bad for how terrible the service was. We had to get up and get our own condiments, hunt down extra creamer, never got additional water. She didn't check on us at all. After waiting for 48 minutes and no food or update on how long it would be I asked the waitress where our food was or how long it would be because we were "over it" and wanted to walk out! She went back in the kitchen for a very long time and ended up coming back with our food, thankfully. We had one of our guests in the restroom, if not we would have walked out! It was awful! If there were 0 stars I would choose that rating. It was nice to see the lake from our table and that was the only positive thing. My breakfast sandwich I ordered my egg over medium, it came over easy and was soo runny, another guest had mushroom in her wrap and they weren't cooked. Overall the entire experience was awful. I would not recommend! We didn't leave until 11:11. An hour and 35 minutes for breakfast?! She never apologized for the inconvenience just simply told us to have a good day. I will...
