Personally, the corned beef was on the dry side. Nothing to write home about. The true value here is the history and pride they take in serving quality (even if a tad dry) meat they cook in-house from what I understand. The old seats and tables are nostalgic, but very low to the ground and uncomfortable. Lou's sandwich is way better, but this place's friendly and familiar environment runs laps around the impersonal and often rude service at Lou's deli... But I typically carry out anyhow.... This place is all about memories and time travel. If you really just want a good corned beef sandwich and don't give a s#!+ about all that, stick to Lou's deli. If you've never been to Lou's, give em a try... Don't be scared 😁

This tiny little restaurant is a must visit while in Detroit! It’s located in a growing community of North Corktown. Anyone in Detroit who lives there knows this is the place to go for the best Reuben in the state! It doesn’t stop there, it might be small but it’s cozy and inviting also making amazing homemade meatloaf and the staff alone is worth the visit! With Miss Linda who has been a waitress there over 25 years! You always leave happy between good food and a great waitress. Add this sweet little stop to your map!

A retro sandwich shop that serves amazing sandwiches. I remember going there as a child with my dad, so I revisited the place with my son. The Reuben sandwich was tender juicy flavorful and grilled nicely just as I remembered. My son had the make a meal sandwich with roast beef which is pictured. Don't forget to try the crispy onion rings too. It was nice making new memories with my son as my dad did with me.

My Sister & I went here by my suggestion because I saw an ad serving Corned beef sandwiches on Groupon with the price of 6.75. After arriving we were told the sandwiches were 8.00 & change with an explanation given by the waitress. She "said" the ad was for another company sharing their name. What? The advertisement was for them! Reluctantly we stayed after being told by the waitress and busboy how satisfied we were going to be after having one. They gave a sample plate of the corned beef--my Sister thought it was soooo good. I really believe she was just hungry because of my sample (from the same saucer) was just ok. So without going on & on our order turned out nothing like described by the employees. She orders sauerkraut on the side along with a regular corned beef sandwich. I ordered fries & corned beef. Fries were good. Who can mess up fries? The sandwich didn't taste real or fresh to me. She complained to me that the sauerkraut appeared to come from a can & stated how happy she was that she ordered dressing on the side to put on the dry corned beef. I paid for our lunch totally $28.00 & change. I asked her to cover the tip she said she didn't think our food deserved a tip. She didn't leave a tip at all. Maybe I'll rate this place as an actual 2 but for the humorous description of how we were going to be soooo pleased with our meals I gave them a 3. I would NOT recommend this place on Michigan Avenue & West Grand Blvd. To each his own but I wasn't satisfied with the place or...

Been in Michigan most of my life; I heard great things about this place so I purchased a Groupon to give it a try. I was extremely pleased with my Reuben sandwich--all of the ingredients melded well together, and yet I could experience the individual taste of the meat, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and buttery lightly toasted bread. It also paired well with my favorite Better Maid Barbecue chips I purchased at the gas station down the street so I didn't eat the 2 pickles it came with because they were too salty. Calling ahead made the service extremely fast. The parking was kind of weird because they're no lines to distinguish parking, but I was glad I didn't have to park on Michigan Ave. Now that I know they close by 3pm most days, I'm going to have to go back for breakfast (corned beef hash) and...

Today I wanted a corned beef sandwich really bad, I was at work, which is down the street. I ordered my sandwich online and a coworker picked it up. Simple sandwich extra corned beef, Mayo, Mustard with Coleslaw on grilled rye. I was excited when I got the sandwich but when I bit into this sandwich it tasted like nothing, it had no flavor at all, it was tough and desert dry, even with the Coleslaw. I paid $18.44 for that sandwich and had to throw it away. The best thing about the meal was the Pickle, it was delicious. They should've cut the meat thinner, or slow cooked it longer it was disgusting. I'm use to corned beef that's so tender it's falling apart with a lot of flavor. I will continue to cook my own or continue to go to Lou's on 6 mile or Mr. Corned beef on 7 mile. I will never go to...
