So it's sad it will be my last time here, no prices on their menus so you won't know what you have to pay, today I went with my son, my daughter and my grand daughter, I have been coming here since they opened the doors, when it was time to go I asked the waitress for our bill like 3 times she never brought it I go to the front to pay my bill for 2 enchilada dinners, 6 steak tacos, a kids chicken nugget meal, 3 horchatas and a children's horchatas was more then $70, and then let's talk about how the waitresses pick what tip they want and put it on the bill, only 3 grown ups and tip was placed on the bill so for only 2 dinners some tacos and a kids meal I paid $84 I asked the OWNER because we was just there a few weeks before with more people and the bill wasn't that high, she was over there going over it with the waitress they talked for a few minutes and I guess they came up with their lie, so the owner tried to show me real fast scrolling through the receipt, and said it's a charge to use your card, I just said yeah ok because I think this may be the practice only for certain people who visit the restaurant. Definitely never paid this much to eat here and I'll never go there again, we just try to support this restaurant because we heard she was doing good things for the community but it's only certain people in the community others will be over charged and the tip added because I guess everyone isn't trusted to tip...side note you do not have to pay what that waitress puts on there you can ask them to cancel and put what you would like more or less I just can't go where they talk fast and try and scroll thinking people are stupid, because this is only my Google review I haven't even gave it on my social media where there are way way more followers and that will hear about this so pay attention to your bill, oh also the waitress folded the bill and put a x for me to sign so I wouldn't see the amount! You can also report this to the city, and the State should be a red flag to go to a restaurant and they don't have the prices listed, they used to have them listed but they did this as a way to charge more if they want to, also owner told me waitresses are allowed to add the tip for more then 4 people, it was 3 adults!! I work too hard to be ripped off by people who have had me and my families support at their restaurant since they opened. Just pay attention to your bill, ask questions, most of you are probably tipping twice, sometimes we have to have bad service to appreciate other restaurants in the community who treat everyone of all colors and races with dignity and respect and don't over charge them and don't add large tips. Good Bye La Rosita you definitely lost our business!!! Picture of my charge because Bill was...
Read moreMy husband was eager to try this restaurant, especially for their birria, which the menu specifies is made with goat meat. However, the dish we received had an overpowering odor that was off-putting. My husband, whose family owns a meat shop, immediately noticed the smell was atypical for goat meat—more reminiscent of old sheep meat or perhaps a mix of old and new soup. Additionally, the birria was excessively oily, leaving a greasy residue that further detracted from the dining experience.
As we dined, another customer entered and was visibly disturbed by the smell, fanning the air. Shortly after, staff began spraying scented products around the dining area, wiping down tables, and opening doors to ventilate the space. This made it evident that the odor was a known issue.
Concerned, I asked an employee about the meat’s freshness. She consulted the owner, who informed us that the birria was actually made with beef, not goat as listed on the menu. The owner attributed the smell to another customer, stating, “I apologize; we did notice a smell, but it was one of the customers who came in, and well, I can’t control who showers and doesn’t.” This response felt dismissive and unprofessional.
Although the owner offered to replace the dish, I declined, fearing further disappointment. I had already started sharing another plate with my husband. We took the birria home to get a second opinion from my mother, experienced in cooking beef birria, and my sister, a chef. Both were immediately repelled by the smell.
Given this experience—the misleading menu description, the unpleasant odor, and the staff’s handling of our concerns—I cannot recommend this restaurant. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements to ensure better quality and customer service...
Read moreSad to say this, because I know the owners are a couple. The husband is genuinely kind and humble, but the wife is a complete nightmare. I ignored her behavior for years, but I’m done. I don’t even write bad reviews, but her constant rudeness, nasty glares, and unprofessional attitude finally pushed me over the edge. Let’s be clear: you have money and a business because customers buy your food. Without us, you are nothing.
I don’t even live in Detroit — I was just visiting and decided to try their so-called “famous” homemade gorditas. And for what? To be told they only use Uber Eats (a lie, since they’re also on multiple other delivery apps), while my sister got judgmental, condescending looks. As a Mexican-American woman, this kind of behavior makes me side-eye my own community when business owners act this way. Pinches amargadas.
You’re on DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats, and Seamless. If you claim to only be on Uber Eats, then shut down the other accounts and manage your Google Business profile correctly. This isn’t even about the money at this point — I’m a robotics engineer, so trust me, it’s not about that. It’s about the sheer lack of respect, the way you handle communication, and how poorly you run your business...
