The first time I tried them through Uber Eats, I got the meatloaf and dressing and Tbh, I wasn't impressed with either. It wasn't bad, but it could have been a lot better imo. I tried them, again though because I had a serious taste for some fried chicken one day, so I got the fried whole wings, baked mac & chz and greens and OMG it was GOOD! I mean I was legit licking my fingers! On my third try I ordered the same thing, the wings and all and it was just a good if not better.
UPDATE: So I ordered again, and once again had the whole wings because it's so good. I ordered through Uber apps again and WOW! They called me and told me they didn't have the macaroni and cheese that I love. First lemme just say that whoever called me, was having a whole conversation with someone else. She called me then literally made me wait on the line while she had a whole conversation going on with someone else. She didn't say hello like a normal person, instead I had to wait after SHE called ME, to finish up her conversation. She then told me they were out of the mac and would I like something else. I opted for the mash and gravy. Her whole attitude was just unprofessional at best and wasn't what you expect from someone you just gave your business to. When I got my order, the mash and gravy was cold. Like they just took it out of the refrigerator. The green beans were really good, but my wings were kinda chewy and when I examined them closer, they were really dark inside like they were going bad or something. The cornbread which has always been good was dry af and wasn't fresh. Seeing that I've had a good experience half of the time and a not so good experience the other half, I'm gonna say that this place isn't consistent and I probably won't be ordering again because I'd feel like I was gambling on them. Maybe it's one of those things where it just depends on who's working on the...
Read moreI recently visited Me and My Girls Soul Food, and unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. I had high hopes for this spot, but several issues made my visit less than enjoyable.
Food Quality The chicken was dry, likely because they served only breast pieces, which are naturally leaner and more prone to dryness. To make matters worse, they didn’t include any gravy to compensate for the lack of moisture. The rice was incredibly bland, with no discernible seasoning or flavor. The mac and cheese, a soul food staple I was eager to enjoy, was served cold, which made it unappetizing and disappointing.
Pricing and Transparency The pricing was outrageously high for the quality of the food. To add to the frustration, they refused to disclose the prices over the phone after I placed my order. This lack of transparency felt unprofessional and left me feeling taken advantage of.
Customer Service The cashier displayed no personality or customer service skills. A welcoming attitude is a basic expectation, especially in a soul food restaurant where hospitality is often part of the charm. Instead, I encountered a detached and indifferent demeanor that made the entire interaction feel transactional and unpleasant.
Overall Experience While the name of the restaurant suggests warmth and comfort, my experience was the opposite. The combination of dry chicken, bland rice, cold mac and cheese, exorbitant prices, and poor customer service makes it difficult for me to recommend Me and My Girls Soul Food.
With some significant improvements in food preparation, pricing practices, and customer service training, this restaurant could live up to its potential. Until then, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for a more satisfying soul...
Read moreTerrible will never patronize again. Was excited about trying them out! I had been having a down day so I ordered “comfort food” I ordered pick up thru door dash. Never again! 30 minute wait turned into 2 hours. It said they were preparing my order the entire time. Decided to go inside where I got attitudes from everyone. Not a smile not a greeting nothing. They all treated me as if I was getting on their nerves. Lol sorry I was hungry and trying to support your business! I waited atleast another 10-15 mins inside, the First Lady didn’t help me because i had door dash. They all were on the phones as if people weren’t all in line waiting. Then when I went to the door dash area she just called out random numbers and was rolling her eyes at me. Never asked me anything or about what I was picking up. All I was doin was standing there holding my kid. I stated then for the 3rd time I was there for my order. Still had to wait. My food wasn’t ready. The lady waited til that moment to “warm up” my short ribs.(still confused on what they were doing the entire time I was waiting. Had I never went inside I would’ve never gotten my food lol. Don’t know if they were having a off day but we all have them. I had one which is how I ended up there but never again. Please be careful how you treat customers! We all have bad days but don’t take it out on ppl who didn’t cause it. but my first time was my last time. They definitely ruined it for me I’ll never return off customer service alone! On top of that My food was cold & disgusting! No cheese or taste on the Mac the short ribs were tough because they WERENT fresh, spaghetti was seeet yam and were...
