This was my first visit, I ordered breakfast here. The Mexican omelet with grits. Since this particular coney island doesn't give toast with their omelet, I ordered a half order of pancakes. The omelet and grits was 13, pancakes was 4 bucks. Yet I paid basically $20 dollars. Why?? Because they add hella fees for doing nothing. They charged me gratuity for TAKE OUT. Yet, there weren't even any napkins in my bag. You would think if they're going to charge all of these extra fees they would make sure they add everything you'd need to eat properly. There excuse for charging extra for doing nothing, is because they put it in very small print on the bottom of their receipt. However, the girl said nothing of this charge when I ordered over the phone.
Then when I had sticker shock by the 20 bucks for this meal that is usually 12 bucks tops elsewhere (including grits n toast 🙄), I asked for a menu. The girl told me they don't have paper menu's, and there is a QR code I can scan, then proceeded to hand me a paper menu behind the counter. Which now gives the vibe of they don't have paper menu's for certain people.
Also, I'm glad I had cash. Because from reading other reviews, I would've been charged extra for that as well. Smh.
I want to add, the pancakes were decent. The grits tasted bitter like it was made with spoiled milk. The omelet was very salty and had lots of uncooked meat mixed in. I pray I don't get salmonella for eating some of it.
The outside of the building looked nice, and I was able to park easily.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant, and it will be my last. I rather go somewhere else where my food will be cooked thoroughly, there are no secret hidden fees for doing nothing, and pay half the cost.

Read moreFirst and last time! I walked in sunday morning, 03-10-2024 and the waitress with glasses is incredibly hostile, dishonest, and poorly trained. I try to write good reviews, unfortunately this is not the case. I was a server for a long time and never saw someone with such low quality service. What’s crazier is I was the only customer there. As soon as I walked in, I said good morning, and instead of greeting me she said “door dash?”That’s not how you greet a customer. Due to my dietary restrictions, I was asking questions about certain meals, and the waitress was not very accommodating and giving me the death stare. I ended leaving without ordering because her attitude towards me. I called later on to give feed back about my experience, and the same waitress picked up. I asked if she was the one who took my table and she lied and said no. I then asked for a manager and she told me she’s the manager. I tried being kind and giving her feed back but she completely lost it. The “manager” started to curse at me on the phone. Instead of apologizing, she was screaming at me on the phone and admitted that she’s the waitress I was complaining about. I then said, “so you lied to me” and She said that “yes I’m a liar and I didn’t do nothing wrong.” I wouldn’t have called if she did something right lol. It gets worse, she proceeds to accuse me of trying to set her up. I just wanted breakfast and she ruined that for me. Idk what this lady’s issue but she does not deserve to be a server and if she is the manger even worse.

Read moreTerrible service I ordered 2 omelette off door dash and when the order got here it was only 1 omelette. Now I paid $48 dollars for 2 omelette plus delivery fees. So when I called Motown the lady told me that they only looked at the 1 omelette and asked if I could pick the other up. When I asked about the fees I was charged by door dash she told me basically take it up with door dash when Motown was reason my food was Mishandled. She treated me less than a customer like it was my fault that the order was not right. She did call door dash to report the issue but they only refunded me $17 dollars. I mean 17 dollars out 48 not to mention I tipped the driver 7 extra dollars because it’s was snowing outside. I’m still stuck without a omelette that I got for my kids now I have to go out and get my own food because Motown messed up on the order not to mention the lady never told me sorry or nothing basically get over it. She was rude and did not want to help . I honestly feel like I was robbed legally if that make sense. I will not be giving them my business which they probably won’t care because how is 1 customer going to affect there business but I’m pretty sure if I was the other color I probably would have been treated better. She also hung up the phone why I was in a middle of sentence like she was just trying to get me off the phone instead of making a paying customer happy .
