The Hideaway Cocktails & Eats — Restaurant in DeWitt Charter Township

Took my dogs to this location after a hike. The server was friendly and attentive. The fenced patio was shaded and nice on such a nice day.

I ordered a salad and the lettuce was visibly unwashed with clear dirt on many pieces. I picked them out because I didn't want to make a stink. Like I said, the server was friendly and I didn't want to be a hassle.

The dogs got surprised by another regular and his dog as they were entering the patio area. There was a short barking session but quickly was brought under control and everyone calmed down. Normal dog stuff. We even had some pleasant chit chat about our dogs.

The bad experience came as I was leaving and packing my dogs into the car. I heard the server come back out and say to the regular, "finally! They sounded like they wanted to hurt you!" Demonized over typical dog behavior that was quickly controlled. No one felt uncomfortable, no one felt like they couldn't come onto the patio nor felt like it was necessary we leave the situation. But no, myself and my dogs were trash talked as soon as we were out of sight.

I regret leaving the server a 25% tip and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They can't be bothered to wash their lettuce. Enjoy your dirt salad and snarky trash talk...

Small, fun, and local. The food from the pizzeria next door comes right to your table and is fire! So good. The service from the bartenders is very attentive and you can tell they enjoy working here. The drink menu even denotes mixed drink favorites from all of the employees. Definitely a spot to pop in and check out. Cute little sports bar i came here with a group of people that bought cocktails and food. I brought a water bottle in because I didn't want to drink alcohol. The bartender made a big deal out of it so I put it under my shirt and drank the water she brought to me. I just wasn't feeling good at the time.
