I was really looking forward to going here and was unfortunately very disappointed. We got there an was stuck in the corner on a slanted floor with a wobbly table despite several others being available. We waiting about 10 minutes for the waiter to even come and see us, and that pretty much set up how the rest of the night went. He was very nice and knowledgeable....when he was there. We had a couple drinks and app and entrees and we were there 2.5 hrs because the service was so poor. And the food! I was hoping at least this would shine...its was extremely unstatisfying. The GOAT cheese tostadas had ZERO goat cheese anywhere in the dish. And then I got the halibut for dinner...it was literally a piece of halibut in a red sauce...that's it. No sides, no other substance to it and it was $24. My bf got a soup and salad (which we were told would be big enough for both of us), the $8 soup came out and had clearly been microwaved AEB the film and floppy corn "crisp" on top. And the $7 salad that "was big enough for both of us" was a side salad....again disappointing. So then we get the dessert menu but 2 out of 3 desserts they were out of and again we weren't checked on again for quite a while, we asked for the check, waited...finally came back to collect payment , ran my card and there it sat for a ridiculously long time while he socialized, washed dishes, cleaned counters etc. He did come back with it and apologize but still, that's how it was the entire night. The cocktail we had was good and again he was very nice and knowledgeable when he was present. Unfortunately we will not be returning and spend over $100 on a very unsatisfying and mediocre...
Read moreThis restaurant has ruined fine dining for me--it's made my standards too high! Bridge Street was one of the first fine dining restaurants I visited regularly. I first stopped by in 2019 and it's been my favorite restaurant ever since. In recent years I've traveled to many nice restaurants in the US and a handful in Europe. I've had some wonderful meals, many on par with Bridge Street, but I've never found another restaurant that unequivocally tops the food, drink, and service from this little DeWitt restaurant. In 2021 I even had a chance to visit a restaurant in Chicago with two Michelin stars. I had a good time at that restaurant, but left disappointed--I had expected the experience would be more like the amazing meals I've had at Bridge Street, for a fraction of the cost.
Stopped by Bridge Street again today and had a great time once again. I was a little nervous to eat dinner alone, but the bartender (Rachel) made me feel right at home, made me a great drink, and gave great food recommendations. My drink, appetizer, and entree cost less than $50. My entree was only $18--just $4 more than a burger at Applebee's. Great prices, great atmosphere, great service, great drinks, and phenomenal food. What else could you want in...
Read moreWe Love love LOVE this spot. Pre-Covid it was my our go-to date night spot and during these Covid times we've gotten take-out quite a few times and their quality has not dropped.
In our humble opinion it is the best restuarant in and around East Lansing for it's delivery of quality and consistency in their food and service. I read some people saying it's pricy, but I feel this is only restuarant in the area that backs up their price with the quality of their food and drink. Is it more expensive then a chain restuarant, yup. How else do you expect to get good food? I think the only restuarant that is similar in quality in the "area" is Red Haven and Bridge Street is easily cheaper and better.
We loved doing their rotating wine flights as it led us to have a fun little taste adventure with our meal, and their in house sommelier's are a pleasure to chat with about why they choose the wines they did. Their menu also will rotate with the season (or did pre-covid) and they have occationally put on special weeks where they will focus on foods from a region of the world. We had a great time in their 2 weeks in northern Italy menu.
The only complaint I have is I wish they moved to East Lansing so we didn't have to...
