Dhafer's Mediterranean Steakhouse — Restaurant in Dexter

They try to present as a fancy restaurant but nothing fancy but the prices. Never order steak here.. they do not know how to cook a steak. Ate there twice and both times the steak was not cooked properly. They cut my steak in half and said "he does that for well done streaks". Two problems with that.. You never cut a steak in half, it makes them dry out when you cook them.. and I didn't order well done. Not only that the steaks tasted like they were way past expiration. Also as chewing as they were was like they were frozen and then thawed in the microwave.. Waiter was dressed like she getting ready for bed, not very professional for a waiter especially for a "fancy" restaurant. And she was fairly rude. I didn't eat more than two bites of my steak, and I usually don't waste food especially expensive food. They must have gone downhill pretty fast since most of the older reviews were good.

Ill admit one of the best house salad's i have ever had other then that service was terrible took 30 min to get a drink after sitting down with only 3 medium tables. Then order and eat appetizer which was the ravioli's they tasted like the ones from walmart, the waitress then brings out our check and ask if we need to go boxes which we havent even got our food yet. We tell her we havent got our food which i ordered the tuna and it came out very much under cooked for my medium request. I tell the waitress and she takes it in the back for like 5 min then brings it out. Tasted like they stuck it in the microwave cause everything else was soggy when i get it back and was now rubbery. I normally dont leave negative reviews but i will never come back to this place. Was very hopeful with all the positive reviews but they must be old, hope your experience is way better then mine if you choose...

Honestly wish I could give more stars. This is a fine dining experience tucked away in a small town's historic downtown. I wanted to take my husband out to celebrate with a fine steak, and boy did we find a fantastic place to eat. This place should be packed every night! The steak was grilled to perfection. So tender and delicious. Charbroiled with just a touch of crispy edges. Perfect! The baked potatoes are soft and fluffy, cooked to perfection. Toasted Ravioli was delicious. Salad, excellent. Thanks for not cutting corners in the salad department. I've seen too many steakhouses that buy bagged salad and serve it to you as a "fresh" salad. The waitress and owner were very pleasant and accommodating. Dhafer's is a diamond in the rough, a hidden gem. And we absolutely recommend it and will...
