This is the best Mexican food restaurant in Dexter, in my opinion. The food is always fresh and hot, and the portions are generous. Pricing is average for a restaurant like this, around $8-$15 per plate on average.
There is plenty of seating available, and larger groups of 15-20 people can be accommodated. There is also a bar separate from the dining area, but the entire restaurant is a non-smoking facility.
The restaurant is usually very clean, I've never been led to a dirty table. Floors, walls, tables and chairs are always very clean, and there are no foul odors. Restrooms are also usually very clean.
From time to time, a plate is brought wrong, or maybe has something on it we didn't ask for, or requested to be left off, but this is rare. Staff is typically amiable and friendly, and service is usually good, but I wouldn't place it above average.
There is additional parking in the rear of the restaurant, and a few spaces on the side. There is also a drive thru window, where you can pick up orders you've placed over the phone. At this time, I do not believe they offer online ordering, or delivery service.
Overall, this is our go-to spot for quality tasteful Mexican food. I can personally recommend the Shrimp Fajita, the Quesadilla Grande, the El Cabrito, and the Flour Tortillas. They also have very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered to go, mind you I waited there for my food and drove to the econo inn 3 mins away. I got the cheese enchilada with a tomale and a chilli relleno, all were bone cold, and the rice and beans were cold too. You could tell it was all pre made and attempted to reheat but failed miserably. Not only was the food cold but disgusting mush that was absolutely flavorless. You know your Mexican food is bland and bad when you can barely distinguish the difference between 3 different items. I also got the chorizo and queso, at least that was kinda hot but also sub par. Not sure how they have such a good rating, this town really needs to get out and try real Mexican food I guess. If you dont think I know what I'm talking about look at my profile and see where I eat. I thought this might be a gem but was a bid bummer for 18 dollars. They are lucky I took it to go I would have sent it back and walked out if I was eating there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went for lunch, a party of 3. I don't recommend the tamales. They are obviously made days in advance, frozen and then microwaved. It was too tough and chewy. Everything was bland except the pico de gallo. It was too spicy for me to eat. The other two people in our party had taco salads, one of steak and one of chicken. They said they were good. Nothing to write home about but decent. However, our server was amazing. She was fabulous. She was always asking if we were good given us anything we needed. The lady that brought our food out was excellent. She was extremely friendly and helpful. The place was clean in the bathroom and it smelled nice. If only their food was at par with their atmosphere and service, this place would be unbeatable. Unfortunately, it seems the kitchen likes to make too many shortcuts that kills the quality...
