Believe the one star reviews. Saves you time. But now to advise as to each star. Food is 1 star. We got the Marguerite pizza. The server asked us if we wanted basaltic on the side or on top. We asked if the sauce was sweet. He said no, so we gave permission to put it on top. It was sweet. Now I’ve had Marguerite pizza’s before. Fresh basil is one of the main ingredients. IT HAD POWDERED BASIL!!! The fried cheesecake was good however, I will cautious props to that. My other half was not enthused by their beers, and I tried a sip of the mango habanero and it had an aftertaste of bad tap water but it was a good mango flavor. The habanero was more afterburn than flavor. He tried the pecan, and that one was more preference than their fault and that is because it was supposed to taste like candied pecans and it was a super sweet dessert beer and he’s not a guy who likes super sweet. Onto the service. Pretty bare bones, bare minimum. Normally you get someone who is a bit friendlier and who checks back occasionally. He was there just enough to not be bad but not enough to be “seeing that everything was well, cruising past once or twice to check on us. I find as a server goes that it was just the bare minimum with zero hospitality training. On to the atmosphere. When we arrived, I have to admit to being shocked. It appears to be a family business (which is fine) But the problem is is the minute I walked in and there appeared to be roughly ten people, none of which bothered to say even hi, or do anything beyond a gauntlet of stares. Y’all never seen a customer? Then it got freaky. I was raised on business books. Customer service. Beyond zero recognition by anyone, they had the air of a funeral parlor and had GINORMOUS PILES OF MONEY that 3-4 people were counting. And they kept bringing money over from different areas, and adding to these literal bags of money. On tables people eat their food off of. It is such an unprofessional thing for the owners/family/ friends to be counting money like they did. You should have an office where you can do this. Definitely not while you are eating, definitely not placing all that filthy money on tables where people eat. If you gotta do it there, do it before or after people are gone. But anyway those are my reasons. And my experience. Would not return. If you can’t say Hi when a customer comes in, my meter instantly kicks in with how much patience I have for the rest of the...
Read moreBasically my feelings about this place are that the food is great but the level of service is not so great. Before I start harping on the negatives, let me first acknowledge the positives. I’ve been here about four times now, including tonight, and I’ve always been satisfied with the food. I’ve tried a few of the pizzas during past visits and tonight I had some wings and so far I have yet to find something that I haven’t liked off the menu. Also, the decor is pretty cool and I love that you can see the brewery from the bar and even take tours of it. That having been said, I feel like the costumer service from the bartenders and wait staff leaves a little bit to be desired. It seems as though they give costumers only the minimal amount of attention, unless it’s someone they know personally in which case they’ll spend like 15 or 20 minutes catching up with that person while the other customers sit at the bar waiting. To be fair, they do acknowledge customers when they first enter the building and they’ll sit them down, offer a menu and take their order - but that’s usually as far as it goes. I mean, if I’ve ordered something and it’s taking a while, I shouldn’t have to ask someone to go back and please check on the order (which I’ve had to do a few times); that’s something that should be offered by one of the bartenders or servers if they’re truly paying any attention to their customers. Or, if I have my wallet out ready to pay for my order and I’m even standing up hoping that the bartender will take the hint, I shouldn’t have to be waiting 10 or 15 minutes before he or she even acknowledges me (again this is something that’s happened during my visits there). To me, these are common courtesies that should be standard practice in any sort of dining establishment. Again I must stress that the food is awesome and honestly I was reluctant to even write this review because of that but when I consistently notice a problem, I have to speak up about it. Now I plan to come back and visit again for the great food but I really hope that the costumer service can improve and be a whole lot better in...
Read moreI have to start by saying the food and drinks are great, and this is my second time traveling through Dickinson so it was a must stop with the first time being five stars. Today however, was DSU graduation and either there was no planning for additional staff or no additional staff to bring in on a day that is going to obviously be busy. Regardless, we knew it was going to be a lengthy wait and ultimately felt sorry for the few staff without support. In these types of situations, I am a large tipper, likely $100 even though we waited over an hour for our food, I was appreciative. The downfall today, our server did not weather the storm well. When we received a wrong pizza, I knew it wasn’t going to be a good time to replace it being so busy, I just wanted to start a conversation about the mistake and if they had any suggestions or if we should just eat it. I simply told our server the pizza had the wrong toppings and she replied “I don’t make the pizzas” and walked off. Our table was astonished by her reply and tone. It was down hill from there, we ate the pizzas that arrived, knowing we ordered a burger that hadn’t. The burger came out 20 minutes later after we were all done eating, so I simply said they can keep it, we were done eating. Out server cam over and very sternly wanted to know who sent back the burger. It was just a very poor customer experience today, not like my last visit. This server doesn’t know she threw away $100 today, and I still feel bad for her, she was in a tough position and didn’t handle it...
