Let me preface this review by stating I have dined here quite few times in the past. For the most part, food was good and service good as well. And then there was tonight......
I stopped to eat a nice dinner, have a few beers and watch the Warrior/Lakers game. Please was so so busy. I always sit at the bar. I had never had to ask for chips and salsa-that's a staple at any Mexican Food Restaurant. But tonight I did. They finally brought my chips and salsa and about 2 minutes later, here came my entre'. SO that was sort of a dinner buzz kill. But the real topper was about 2 or 3 bites into my dinner, a fist fight breaks out between two men at the bar. Literally fell nearly into my side. THAT was the complete dinner Buzz Kill. I asked the Bar keep-who I think is also the manager to please box up my dinner. He somewhat apologized. said it has never happened before (which I kinda doubt-alcohol/testosterone and the right environment brings out the best in people)
I didn't wait for my check. I presented my card to him which he quickly ran it and presented my bill. You would think after an incident like that, there might be some kind of discount/peace offer gesture, something. NOPE! Not here. I got the full bill.
Refer back to the first paragraph in this review. I have eaten here before. I am NOT cheap. I leave tips and not crappy tips. It's usually in the 20% range. So to see I was charged full bill and to have to have asked for chips & salsa which was brought later than one would think and then deal with two dudes throwing punches right in the middle of all this was enough for me to call it a night.
I am glad my project here in Dinuba is about finished. I really like this place but doubt I will spend more...
Read moreThe food is really good but the atmosphere is not. There are almost no windows and it gives off major dive bar vibes. Which would be fine but it doesn’t really make a lot of sense. They have a nice and fancy dining area on the left. But on the right is where they seat everyone. They easily have the best Mexican food in town. But there are always people here who are too drunk to even walk straight who are obnoxiously loud and they will harass other customers. The food is great. Their mixed drinks are great. Most of them are 9 dollars a but everytime I’ve been here and ordered a draft beer it was between 15 and 17 dollars which doesn’t make sense. The ridge creek golf course has the same beers for 4-6 dollars.
I really love their food but their lack of windows and their obnoxious customers who harass everyone make this place less desirable than it should be. It’s a great place to bring social young adults who don’t mind the drunk people starting fights and screaming the lyrics of songs at 2 pm on a weekday. But it’s sad how they have such great food while their environment is what drives others potential customers away. Everything on their menu is fantastic but they need to do something to address the unruly regulars and having 0 regular sized windows in their entire restaurant. I’ve never been unhappy with their food, but 75 percent of the time I come here I have to deal with their regulars who are incredibly...
Read moreI went to dine when they had their white tent outside due to covid. Never will I return. I was seated on a visibly dirty table so I voluntarily moved to another. The waiter decided to not check on us the whole stay and unfortunately that caused for me and my date to be harrassed by a drunk homeless man. To top it off we went inside to alert the waiters that evidently didn't care and to pay for our food. I shouldn't even have spent a dime there. May I add I went back! My girl friend wanted some drinks and before I left this original review above, I actually enjoyed having drinks and pasta at Safari. Unfortunately when we got there one night, we waited out front to be seated and no one came out. After about 10 minutes of waiting we decided to go inside and ask for needed assistance outside as we asked for that request a rude male employee told us to "keep waiting outside and someone will be with you shortly" 5 minutes pass by, the same guy comes out and asks if we are ready to be seated. As we say yes he gestures right behind him to a table right next to the entrance. Ugly attitude and horrible seating? What a joke and how disrespectful. This place and its service really is distasteful and quite embarrassing. Fortunately for these two employees, I didn't get...
