Some friends of mine had told me this place was good but I hadn't tried it yet. We had actually went to Dorcheat but once we got inside, there was a sign that they didn't have whole fish. 🐟 That was a deal breaker for us so we thought we'd give this place a try. When we pulled up I noticed the sign said they opened at 4:00 but there was a lady outside who beckoned us to come on in. That was a great touch to me as I've sat at many places waiting for them to open at the exact time. Since it was early, there were only a couple other tables seated. We were seated quickly and the folks were very friendly. We took a few minutes to look the menu over since we were first timers. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Dinner and I ordered the Whole Catfish Dinner. It took a while for our food to arrive, but I was a little impatient because I hadn't eaten all day. 😂 My catfish came out piping hot but the etouffĂ©e on top of my wife's crab cake was on the cool side. There catfish was cooked to perfection but I wasn't a fan of their spicy tartar sauce. I'm a big tartar sauce eater with my fish not I ended up basically eating mine plain which I don't like doing. If they had some regular tartar I would have enjoyed my meal better. The slaw and fries were ok but not great. I wasn't a fan of the hush puppies but my wife who never eats them liked them. I thought her dish was amazing. So to answer the nagging question, "Would I go back?" The answer to that is yes but it's complicated. 😂If I was going out to eat catfish, I prefer Dorcheat. I would say the catfish are about a draw but I like Dorcheat's slaw better and the fact that they have a salad bar and a big ol' pot of pinto beans. If I was wanting seafood with a Cajun twist like my wife's 🩀 crab cake topped with etouffĂ©e this is a great place.

Been to this place many times over the years, this time I stopped by with my friend. Good food, I really like the atmosphere of this place, and my friend also really enjoyed it. The only thing I would have to say was a little disappointing is the meat pie appetizer. I hate to go on a tangent but think it was like three and a half dollars for one meat pie. Just seems like a lot, I feel like for that price you should get two, like I feel I’ve been places where for just an extra buck or two more than that you get a little plate of 4 or 5 mini meat pies, which makes more sense anyway since appetizers are usually to share. Not that I feel gypped or anything, I understood what it said on the menu, just had buyers remorse afterward for what it turned out to be.

I stopped here for the past few years when passing through Dixie Inn. Each time I’ve been highly impressed with the extensive food that comes with each entree. This last go around I ordered the seafood platter and really enjoyed the range and taste of my dish. All the fried food was cooked to crispy perfection and the meat was tasty and flavorful. I also ordered a meat pie as a side and found the outside crust crispy while the meat inside was savory and had a unique taste. Wait staff here are friendly, attentive, and fast despite the large number of folks coming here to eat, which is a testament to the quality of the fare.

So incredibly disappointed !! When I lived in the area this was one of my favorite places to eat. My family and I were passing thru this weekend and we were so excited to get to stop there for dinner. I’m not sure if this is new ownership or simply a management decline but our overall experience was awful. The service was poor and slow!! After a long time , half of our food came out . 10 or 15 minutes later the rest came out. The appetizer we ordered was forgotten and brought out after the food when we reminded the server. I ordered a poboy and was brought fish and shrimp. The waitress took it back and brought back the same fish and shrimp thrown on a cold bun . This fish had black stuff on it and was gamey. My husband ordered the 15.00 fish and shrimp combo and it came out with two small pieces of fish, a few small shrimp and some small, over cooked hush puppies. I think I’m more disappointed because I know how great this place use to be . Their poboys use to be huge and overloaded with seafood!!! Even the tarter sauce was not as good . I have recommended the Crawfish Hole to many people over the years . I can’t believe this is what it has become. I hope whether new ownership or the same as always, that you take this criticism as constructive and try to fix the issues !! I have to say I was reading online reviews for them on the way to dinner and I couldn’t believe that anyone would leave them negative feedback. I even saw one person who said that the only reason they gave them one star was because there was no zero option. I thought to myself, these people don’t know what good food is if they don’t like the Crawfish Hole but based tonight’s experience, I would have chosen zero stars if that option would have been...

I’ve been patronizing this place for over 18 yrs. This is it, we’re done. ToGo Order: Two Ribeye Steaks med. well, w/stuff potato and salad. One salad no tomato. Simple enough you would think. After waiting over 30+ mins. The Cook comes over to say, “we’re out of the stuff potato’s. My reply, “ no sir, I need a baked potato, then”. There’s no way I’m taking my husband a steak without a potato. The manager goes to the kitchen to resolve the issue with the potato. She said, “they’re getting your potato ready”. I waited another 20 plus mins. She comes out with the food. I get home, less than 5 mins away. The pkgs. of salad dressing in the same plate with the steaks? Both steaks were cold. I called to advised the steak were cold. The manager says, “that’s because you had to wait on the potato’s”. Go figure. So, there’s no way to keep the steaks warm? After a 15 sec nek in the microwave. I cut into my steak, it’s rare. I asked my husband about his steak, which he already nek his, he replied “yeah it’s raw”. Me: “What?!! I can’t eat this”. I took the steaks back, no apologies, no offer to remake, I’m standing at the count waiting for some type of accommodation, nothing. A big waste of my time. I was told my money was placed back in my card, end of...
