The Gem of Donaldsonville! Cane Sugar Toffee Shop is far more than a toffee shop. They serve the a variety of fresh homemade items including toffee, cakes, brownies, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, and more.

The toffee - flavor of the toffee was immediate, butter mixed with sugar and pecan so fresh that it went straight from the fields in Donaldsonville into the toffee.

The coffee - I am not a fan of Community Coffee, so I was very surprised when I tasted the Brazilian dark roast and enjoyed it. While in Donaldsonville, I walked to Sugar Cane Toffee for every cup of coffee I drank.

The homemade cakes looked absolutely delicious. But after purchasing a big bag of toffee, I purchased a boiled shrimp salad. It was good, but not as mouth watering as the fresh carrot cake or the homemade brownie I craved.
