For starters the floridita in Kendall is 100% better in service and food. Now this floridita on coral way , I have tried three of times including last night as I write this review. Yesterday was the worst of all. The greeter at door looks overwhelmed. As we waited to be sat down, there was a customer complaining about his take out order not been ready for pick up,he was standing there at least 15 minutes. Something told me this is not good. When we were finally seated and ordered the food. The kids food( fish and chips) came out about ten minutes later. The soup I ordered, had to ask twice for it came out about another ten minutes after that. Then we waited for 45 minutes later after kids had finished for the main course. I should say as I was going to cancel my order and leave the food arrived. The food is bland, over sauced. I had the pasta with shrimp on lobster sauce. The wife had lobster ravioli. As i noticed the table next to us had the same experience and were not happy with the with the wait for food. The waiter tried his best to accommodate us, offering a free dessert. Free dessert after a bad experience does not solve the issue, I don't want free anything, just good service for what I pay and this was horrible. Now since I first walked in the door and waited to be seated, I noticed the maitre d looked at us waiting a while to be seated and asked the hostess what we were waiting for. Thru the course of dinner I also noticed the maitre d standing around chatting with the hostess and waiters at the hostess stand by front door. At no time does the maitre d come to ask us if everything is ok or apologize for the food delay. As I walked out after a bad experience which will be my last at this coral way Floridita, I addressed the maitre d and expressed my dissatisfaction he just smirked. Don't waste your time and spend your hard earned money...
Read moreIt is a pity that with such great location, food quality and customer service (except for the delay in getting our food and drink from the bar served), I have to give El Floridita just 1 star following my visit this evening. Kudos for the greeter and Enrique who was very affable, professional and smiley. Two key flaws - First and foremost: the credit card charge if bill is paid with CC. (To the owner: It may be convenient to you, the owner, but not to the customers at all! Credit Card terminal leasing / equipment / etc. is the owner's financial responsibility and should not be charged to your loyal customers. I understand it is legal to impose credit card fees for certain services in some states but keep in mind that what is legal is not always necessarily in your best interest, it could backfire; these type of charges are always frowned upon by customers, and what keeps El Floridita and the thousands of restaurants in this city afloat? Well, customers. I also understand that credit card surcharges can be applied to CREDIT CARDS ONLY, not debit cards as it is the equivalent of cash. I paid with a DEBIT CARD and the staff still collected the CC Surcharge. I expect to receive back my Cash Discount Fee of $2.65. Second: The service was very slow, they took a long time to have our food served, which caused our party wanting to leave before than expected and have part of our food packed to go. I usually post positive reviews when it's worthwhile and would like to turn this 1 star review into a 5 start one in a near future and encourage El Floridita to correct whatever necessary to move forward and continue to providing good quality service. Give to Caesar what...
Read moreI called the restaurant to begin placing my order (in English) I was asked if I spoke Spanish and when I told the person taking my order that I did not speak Spanish, I felt as if the tone of voice changed to frustration as he attempted to take my order. (I’m not even from Miami) When I was placing my orders I was going off of the menu they had online and it seemed as if the person had no clue what they had on their own menu. I was told my food would be done in 45 minutes. I had arrived a little early to make sure I would be there in time to receive my food nice and hot & right out the gate the gentleman approaches my boyfriend and I and was telling us in Spanish with attitude that we needed to give him a chance to even make the food, to give him an hour or so. I said it’s not a problem. Mind you the total was close to $100 with of food. The customer service was just horrible and the food even worse. We all were disappointed in soggy tostones, the shrimp in the rice smelled old and tasted like last batch or something. The lobster bisque was cold. The chicken noodle soup had no salt or flavor. My entire family dinner was a complete disgust. I am a server and I understand the importance of customer service, I was so disappointed I left no tip. I normally would have even left $5 for mediocre service but this was just ..... bad....
