I was looking forward to visiting this Café. I went to try the croquetas, breakfast and mint lemonade, but unfortunately left with just the croquetas.
When I arrived there was only one table of customers before me. To begin, I was not greeted. after about a min she asked what I needed when she observed me looking through the counter for a menu. I was told to wait. I had to ask twice and was finally handed a menu after about 5 min. Once I was given a menu, I waited over10 minutes until my order was taken because apparently the new customers that walked in and sat at a table were more important. I decided to only order the croquetas because the server made me feel rushed and as if I was a nuisance for asking any questions. She should have been nice and grateful that I patiently waited until she felt I was worthy enough to tend to. Anyhow, I ordered 8 Croquetas at 11:02 AM (based on my receipt & phone time). I waited for my order for over 35 min with absolutely zero apology. She didn't even offer me a glass of water, not only because is what you should do, but for my patience! After my order was finally ready, I asked if she could please give me some lime, she seem miffed and threw two slices of lime in the bag...really?!?!!! She could have, one, used a napkin instead of her bare hands, and two, put the limes in the container with the food vs. the bottom of the bag.
Sadly, I did not feel like a valued customer. It is far more difficult to acquire new customers than it is to maintain the ones you have. In my case, it was my first time visiting, and they failed miserably. Not only will I not return, but I will not recommend this establishment.
I wasted almost an hour of my morning for 8 croquetas, 2 lime wedges and an attitude. There is so much competition in the surrounding area (Finka, Amelia 1932, Islas Canarias, Naked Orange, El Chaman, etc.), and I prefer to spend my hard-earned money where the customer is treated with respect. A place where I feel welcomed and where they have safer food practices. And quite frankly, the Isla Canarias and Amelia 1932 croquetas, blow away the ones...
Read moreCafe Bea is a hidden gem that everyone who lives or works in the area NEEDS to try! Came during the week with my boyfriend searching for an affordable breakfast to feature on my food Instagram and was blown away. First off, Cafe Bea is located in pretty unknown shopping center with ample parking. The well thought out decor is absolutely beautiful and makes you feel like you're far from Miami when you're eating here.
The food was absolutely incredible which is why I chose them as my #1 must try restaurant for my blog. Even better the gourmet quality food they deliver is all priced at very affordable costs. I ordered a cafecito $1.50 to jump start my day and two ham croquetas $1/each for us to nibble on as appetizers. I know it doesn't sound like much but this was literally the best cafecito I had ever tasted! The croquetas completely surprised us with their high quality taste that I could only compare to other fine dining Spanish restaurants in Miami. I'm assuming their made with Serrano ham and manchego------so so tasty! For my meal I ordered the Italian Sandwich $7.50 ( prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, pesto, and arugula) with an additional I asked for in which they did their very best to accommodate me. IT WAS AMAZING! So fresh and fulfilling, all the ingredients used were without a doubt fresh. My boyfriend ordered the Huevos Rotos $7.50 (2 eggs over French fries topped with a generous portion of Serrano ham & truffle oil). He still raves about this meal and being from Spain, could not believe the price for how much they gave him. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delightful lunch or as a cute intimate brunch/date spot that won't break the...
Read moreThis place looks better than it looks. The portions that they serve makes one feel like you're on a dietary restriction. Things that were ordered were the green juice, and the mint juice. They were filled about halfway with actual juice and the rest was foam. The burrata salad was about the only good thing that was ordered. The burger was ordered medium rare and it was close to being well done. The size of the burger was the smallest patty that I have ever seen, a bubba burger you get from Publix was bigger than this burger if it can be called that. The Steak sandwich was dry. They have ketchup however it is in packets like you would get at Burger King, definitely took away from the looks and high end look they were going for. The absolute biggest offender out of everything though was the chorizo croquetas, whatever was inside definitely did not look or taste like chorizo, it was an insult to the food. The actual croquetas tasted fine, but the deception here is the chorizo part, they need to actually put chorizo if they are going to sell a "chorizo croqueta." The price for everything was closer to what you could get elsewhere, eat better and leave satisfied. I left feeling like I was robbed blind. The service was good, nothing to note there, staff was friendly but that's only a small part when going out to a restaurant. The ambiance, food and service are the main pillars and it failed on 2 out of the 3. If you are planning on coming here and there are other choices, unless you want to spend a lot, this place isn't it. The theme they appeared to be going for was alright, it was a mediocre place trying to pass itself off as something...
