I will start off by saying that the service was good, not great. The ambiance was very much authentically Mexican, with its phrases and music sticking to Mexican culture. This I enjoyed, given that not many “Mexican” restaurants embrace the Mexican culture. However, the food was very subpar. Appetizer: Elotes. I have tried my fair share of elotes before, and these were not good. They were overpowered by lime, masking the spices and cheese that was on the rest of the corn. If it weren’t for that, the appetizer would’ve been good. It also came on a bed of shredded lettuce, which didn’t make sense. Entrees: I had the quesadillas. They were okay. They were plain besides the steak and the cheese in them. Very small servings of guacamole, sour cream, and pico accompany it. The guacamole lacked salt. I asked for refried beans but they had none. Only regular beans you would mix with rice. My boyfriend had the Entraña cinco de Mayo. According to him, the steak was good but the rest of the dish lack cohesion. It was basically surf and turf with very minimal Mexican flavors sprinkled within it. The sauce at the bottom of the dish was very soup-y. The vegetables were well cooked and flavorful. The salad had a mustard vinaigrette, which overpowered the rest of the salad. The food is not cheap, but also not too expensive. Total came out to $85. In the check, gratuity and a credit card fee...

It was our first time here. We noticed they have live music since we always go to the movie theaters but never actually been here. We tried it out this weekend and was actually pretty great food. I had a vegetarian burrito which was actually amazing. I also had this Jamaican rum drink it was like red and white that was refreshing and delicious. 5 stars all around. My family had the tacos of carne asada the corn and the cheese dip. All was great. The horchata was actually pretty darn good and that’s hard to find a place that actually makes it well. Angie was our waitress and she was a superstar if you get her it will be a treat she was cool and very welcoming. Oh we also had the churros that were fresh and crunchy. The flan looked good but I didn’t try it. The ice cream was ok. Just vanilla but I hit it with the Nutella from churros and was good. I would highly recommend this place. I’d like to go back to check out live music I heard they are mariachis Sunday 3-5pm. Friday and Saturday after 7pm live bands come and play. Definitely check it out if you...

It's odd every place that have ever seemed to open up in this corner location has closed or never made it. I am really rooting for this restauraunt! We came in here before watching a movie one night since we had been wanting to try it out. We ordered a burrito and queso fundido with some micheladas just to test the waters.

The food I can't say was anything out of this world but was good for some lite bites and to have a happy stomach before going into the movies.

The service was great and the food came out really quick just in time to watch the movie. Overall there is ample parking around and the live performance was very entertaining to watch while eating. Would I go out of my way to recommend it .. I don't think so. But definitely a good option to grab some grub before the movies.

Also please take in consideration they charge a 2.70% cc fee which working at a financial institution. I know there is a cost associated with merchant fees but they should just subsidize it in the food cost as this fee is so unsightly on anyones...

Los Chingones Mexican food restaurant is in a mall with ample parking, and it's next door to the movie theater. The entrance faces the theater, not the parking lot. It's bigger inside than it looks outside, with a great sugar skull art theme and humor on the walls. The wait staff is kind and considerate. Why I wrote this review is that I was delighted to find Mexican food here that isn't afraid to be spicy. Chips and salsa are free, and you can request the hot salsa (they have mild and spicy, and sometimes even spicier if requested). Each dinner plate is served with a roasted jalapeño (whole). One star of the menu is the 2-3 person item called Parrillada Chingona $36.00, a molcajete stuffed with grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, nopal (peeled cactus), and jalapenos. Yes, this huge combo serves more than one big eater! Corn tortillas are made in-house and are small, street sized. I love this place. I grew up with Tex Mex and this us the closest to San Antonio style I've found in Miami.
