Dorav Parlor Bistro (DPB) — Restaurant in Doraville

I reserved a table for 14 for my birthday and an email was sent two weeks later to confirm. I had a party bus with 12 of my friends arrived at Darav Bistro ready to party, only to be met with lights off and doors locked. As we stood in utter disbelief of what was happening, another party arrived wondering the same thing only he called the owner and allowed him to speak with me. I was advised that they tried to call me day off to see if I was still coming. Hmmm, I didn’t get a call but this is disturbing because my reservation was confirmed weeks ago. And is this not a lounge open for business on a normal Saturday night? Your hours say that you are. I’m not sure why not speaking with me on the day of my reservation constituted the lounge not being open for business. I was highly inconvenienced as my party had to scramble to find somewhere to go before having to be taken back home by the party bus I rented. And then the owner never reached out and asked how could he make it right. What kind of “upscale” pretend...

So I frequent here often for the chill atmosphere, upscale vibe and the awesome classy house band 400 Proof ( this band is EVERYTHING!!! Look em up!!!) and let me tell you…I had to write a review today. Our waitress Victoria…extremely attentive, very accommodating and super pretty to boot! She made an already fabulous time even more stellar. Her professionalism shined the entire night and although we weren’t actually sitting in the VIP area we were made to feel very important our entire stay. If you’re looking for great service, tasty food (I’m vegan and though the pickings were slim the Dorav salad popped off!!) Dorav parlor is where to relax after a long week and you’re looking to unwind with class. Did I mention my cocktail had Haitian rum in it, the best rum in the world (yes im Haitian!!)??!? I really wanted to like this place because it’s nice inside. We are social group and wanted to use this place to host an event. We were invited by the owner to come preview it and while there were some strange hiccups while we were there-like the waitress telling us they ran out of waffles while clearly serving the next table after us several waffles, and getting a few other peoples orders wrong, we were still open to using the facility. The manager working that night corrected the issues with grace and we understand that mistakes happen. I actually never complained but she was quick to fix the issue once she identified it.
