I can hardly remember if I’ve visited this restaurant before, which means it’s either been a very long time or this was my first visit, recommended by a group of friends from an association. Regardless, this humble neighborhood restaurant left a strong impression. Once popular in the heart of Doraville's old Koreatown, this spot carries a sense of nostalgia and is truly a hidden gem with a rich history. While it may not boast extravagant decor, the quality of the food speaks volumes. I particularly enjoyed the generous variety of side dishes (반찬), which were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The highlight of my meal was the fresh grilled sole fish (서대구이), perfectly cooked and accompanied by a hearty bowl of bean paste stew (된장찌개), both proudly recommended by the friendly and welcoming owner. Her genuine hospitality and attentive service added warmth to the dining experience, and it was heartwarming to see some of my friends recognize her from previous visits.
If you’re looking to experience authentic, homemade Korean cuisine in a modest yet charming setting that evokes memories of Korea's past, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a rare gem that preserves the flavors and traditions of old Korea, and I’ll definitely be returning to savor more of...
Read moreWas a bit skeptical about coming here, but it isn't a horrible place, it just isn't the best.
My brother and myself got the "All you can eat special for $16.99 per person" which includes beef brisket (Chadolbaki) and pork belly (Samgyeopsal). My mom got one of the soups that included fish in it.
The meats for the all you can eat special seemed like poor cuts. The pork belly seemed to contain a good amount of fat (sort of the beef brisket too) and the beef brisket seemed really watered down. It was also a bit confusing if we were suppose to cook the meat or if they were suppose to cook the meat as the server would sort of cook it, but then sit down for quite a while to the point where we had to turn it.
There were a lot of different sides included, a big bowl of salad, kimchi (which didn't seem to be fresh and as tasty), egg souffle, kimchi pancake (had absolutely no flavor and didn't taste fresh, my mom believed they microwaved it), bean sprouts, and a couple more dishes.
They also provide a little dish tray that include bean paste and sesame oil with salt at the bottom to mix.
It is a cheap Korean restaurant that has its faults but it also has its...
Read moreA very dishonest restaurant. Today (02/27/2016) when we walk-in and asked for the price of their "all you can eat special" at lunch time, the owner show us the "To Go menu" with price $14.95 on it. But it ends up (after meal when we saw the check) shows $18.99 per person, so we asked the waitress to find out that $14.95 was OLD PRICE! OLD PRICE! No one ever told us (when we were there setting, waiting, eating), the whole time NO ONE (not even those waitress) mentioned to us about their price changes.
Therefore, we just want to warn everybody who wants to go to that restaurant --- Remember "Triple Check" with them before you order anything from their menu. Because they may raise the price anytime during your meal.
BTW, we did pay for $18.99 per person for lunch and leave 15% tip, because we wanted to be honest. And we will never go back to this dishonest...
