Carters Fried Chicken "Tidwells" — Restaurant in Douglas

I absolutely love this place. The chicken is top-notch you get a good amount of food for a very good price. The customer service is exquisite I used to go to the other one and only went there because the food was good and I thought their chicken was good until I tried this Carters and this one blew it the other Carters out of the park plus they have good customer service they're not on their cell phones they're not rude they don't smack their lips at you and then I'll say huh and what while taking your order in the middle of their text messages which is Major brownie points in my book. They also have smoked chicken which is finger licking good and the owner has always been nothing but nice and speaks every time I walk in. If a customer has an issue it is solved without hesitation or back talk. You never have to worry about not getting enough for your buck @Tidwells Carter's chicken. So if you're not from Douglas and you're going to be near Douglas or coming through Douglas I would always stop in and get you a fried chicken or smoked chicken plate with okra because it tastes homemade and hand battered I think it might be I honestly but it is so good so it's sweet tea and that's all...

Best chicken I have eaten in a long time, good fries, and cabbage as a side dish. I had almost given up on anything to eat for the next four hours when this place seemed to just suddenly appear at the intersection. Been through here many times and never noticed this restaurant. Had to make a u turn to get back to it but well worth the effort. The place was really noisy with all the grills, fryers, coolers, and ice machines right up near the front counter, making it hard to be heard as you placed your order, but they got it, got it right, and got it FAST! I didn't have time to fix my drink before the order was filled and handed to me. Never had that happen before anywhere. And when I sat down and took my first bite, I forgot about the noise. We came here at 3:00 in the afternoon and the place was jumping. The atmosphere here is pure Carter's. Yeah, a repurposed place that serves good food and plenty of it.
