Zero stars if I could. I ordered a Belgium waffle with powdered sugar. When I got home and opened the container no surprise they DIDN’T put the powered sugar on it and it looked burned and was very small and thin. It even says on the menu it comes with powdered sugar. Didn’t matter anyway as the whole thing was inedible. I wasn’t even able to cut through it with a fork and I can’t imagine trying to chew it. I don’t know what the heck was wrong with it. I didn’t want to risk eating it and getting sick. When you can’t even put a fork through a waffle because it is hard as a rock and not able to cut completely through something wasn’t right. I live in Douglas and definitely won’t be going back to this place. Save your money. My order came to over $15.00 for 2 mini size burnt waffles. Also, I am not one to write a bad review ever but I was at a loss and completely angry that I wasted over $15.00 on a waffle I couldn’t even cut through and eat. I will start with that our server was amazing and friendly and was very quick to respond with drinks and other little things. The food was fast and tasted like your usual diner food with average price but one thing threw me off. As I walked in I looked in the back as if I can see the kitchen I have to look into it. The first thing I see is a cook eating food off the grill and laughing and talking with food on her mouth over the grill. I'm not one to freak but that's absolutely disgusting. I didn't want to ruin our morning so I said nothing but I genuinely felt wrong the rest of the morning. My wife and I were on our first weekend of house hunting and came across the Picket Fence Restaurant and we loved it. The food was great, the service was awesome and during these crazy times, the precautions taken were amazing. I felt so safe eating there and the staff ensured to follow all state guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. Their outdoor tent was so peaceful. Finally, Diana, the owner was personally serving us and she was such a welcoming and kind woman with an inspiring story of her journey to opening this restaurant.
