In all the years coming to Butterfields Ice cream, The atmosphere fit the landscape of the " Highlands of Maine "this beautiful land we call home ! Years of homemade ice cream and how down to earth it felt sitting outside and enjoying a homemade scoop ! We grew up with the front painting and beautiful clap board shingles that was really a warm welcoming! Prices were just right and local people working there ! In 2024 it had a disgusting and awkward remodeling job that really makes this Place looks like a walk in clinic! The color is a gross Grey color!! No more homeie feelings...The Ice cream now is way over priced and you get 3x less for the price of 3x more !! Wasn't worth the remodeling!! I as well as many others in our small town are disgusted by this look and how it lost its once awesome atmosphere and wonderful Ice cream ! The drive up to Monson and Greenville will now be worth it! If its not broken don't fix it ! We are completely sadden by this disgusting new look and over priced gross ice cream 🍦 😒🥹🥹 Such a great loss to our...
Read moreTheir ice cream is AMAZING! I'm only 18, and haven't been around a lot, but I've still gone to many different ice cream places and this one EASILY takes the cake! Well... takes the ice cream cake... (Please laugh at my joke). Anyways, all their flavors are 10/10! Not to mention they have SO many flavors! They have all these flavors but what happens if you order a scoop or two but don't like it? Ask for a taste! Yes! They allow people to ask for a sample of any of their flavors before you possibly buy a flavor you don't like! Huuuuuge positive in my book. On top of that, prices are well priced and the workers are always kind so this place literally deserves 5/5 stars. I'd honestly get ice cream from here for my breakfast lunch and dinner if I could.
My ice cream recommendations: Butter Brickle, Moose Tracks, and STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE...
Read moreThey might have nice ice cream but I didn't get to find out. If you are disabled, or care about protecting the dignity of those with disabilities, this is not the place for you. You might end up spending a lot of money on your ice cream only to be yelled at, humiliated, berated, and kicked out by the owner. Calm reasoning and de-escalation techniques did not work. In my case, it was my legal service dog that set her off, but no one is safe. She also yelled at my elderly Aunt, who has dementia, because she left the door open. Additionally, if you are in a wheelchair, it will not be possible for you to enter without having to rearrange the entire dining room, causing another embarrassing spectacle. Basically, I would just avoid this place altogether unless you enjoy witnessing vulnerable people being humiliated in front of...
