Camp Parks DFAC — Restaurant in Dublin

The wait is very long. The hours say they start lunch is at 1130 but even if you get there earlier they allow a large group (BLC) to jump to the front of the line which in essence make lunch start at 1200. Most soldiers on this post are students why one set is preferred over another is beyond me. Additionally, after the big push for the large group they do not replenish the self serve bars nor are they efficient with cleaning and sanitizing after soldiers leave. After the large group that is pushed to the front have received their food there are limited items remaining at the self serve stations and unsanitary seating areas to eat in. The food is not great, even the vegetables are subpar. And then they don't accept credit cards but schools on this post make it a requirement to eat here. Food is constantly over cooked or undercooked. Not very many healthy options. Everyone must pay cash which is super inconvenient. Hours are not conducive to the amount of people they are trying to feed. If you get there towards the end of the meal they have already started to put away the little amount of food left regardless of the number of Soldiers left to feed in the line. Workers are concerned with Soldiers stealing drinks from the fountain I guess because I am not allowed to carry my water bottle in with me. When serving workers throw your foods on top of each other with little regard. For example I had peas and the worker scooped refried beans on top of my peas….needless to say both were not eaten. For those military families that might want a friendly and convenient alternative to the expensive East Bay feeding options, there is nothing better for a nostalgic trip down military memory lane.

This is probably one of the better-maintained dining facilities I have seen, especially on a reserve installation. With a decent variety, and the standard sides and dessert options, there is plenty to complete a meal.

Aside from the cleanliness and food options, the staff is friendly and efficient. Kudos to whoever is nurturing their working environment because the effects are transparent.
