⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I had to pinpoint where my love for food began, it would be at a street elote vendor off Harry Hines. Ever since that first bite, I’ve made it my mission to find the best elotes. Out of all the places I’ve tried, only a few have made it to my top three: one in Pearland/Houston, one in Waxahachie (which sadly closed), and a couple in Hurst and one in Dallas. I know there are more great spots out there waiting to be discovered.
As for El Botanitas, I have some honest feedback. The elote was watery and lacked flavor. It needs more mayo, more crema, and better seasoning. Offering additional flavor options like lemon pepper, chile limón seasoning/candy, or Hot Cheeto toppings would really enhance it. Also, please consider using more authentic and flavorful cheese like cotija instead of parmesan. That small change can make a big difference.
I also asked for extra of everything but received less than a standard serving, which was disappointing.
On the bright side, the Topo Preparado was absolutely delicious and super refreshing. That was definitely a highlight.
