Blake's Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Durant

This place had an advantage when I showed up but my review is still only as fair as they deserve. I came here after having been disappointed by a coffee shop downtown. I can't say that they had what I came for but I can say that the coffee was good for what it was. I was hoping for something like a liquid desert but ended up having a hot coffee with butter pecan syrup and vanilla flavoring. I tried the avocado toast because... why not? I like avocado. It was okay but it was three pieces of a thin toast with a little more than half the surface area of a standard piece of bread. I didn't expect a value at a coffee boutique so I didn't look at the menu price. One thing I can absolutely recommend is the baked oatmeal. I was given a sample that was actually quite generous. The flavor is rich enough that two small bites would have told me if it is for me. It most definitely is. This stuff is good enough to be a dessert. It was suggested that it could have used a little more cream but I had no complaints. I'll have to ask if they have vanilla ice cream...

Saturdays are for coffee, but when on vacation, so is Monday! 😄

Today we stopped at 2 shops in Oklahoma, and we loved the second stop! It was Blake’s Coffee Shop (there was also a dog park attached to the back but it was too hot for any pups today!).

Our son ordered a Pour Over which was a delicious Ethiopian bean. Aaron ordered one of their signature options, an iced white chocolate and brown sugar latte with almond milk. He said it was a good dessert drink since it was on the sweeter side but it drank easy. I ordered the Salted Caramel Popcorn latte with oat milk and y’all….it was probably the best latte I’ve ever had! I love popcorn though so it’s sweet and slightly salty taste was perfection! They use a popcorn flavored coffee syrup and a salted caramel sauce to create this masterpiece! 😄🍿☕️

I was very pleasantly surprised.

Back story: I went through the drive through right after they opened (within a few weeks or days) they had no menu posted, person at the window didn't know the answers AND they didn't have decaf espresso. I was underwhelmed so I didn't go back as I dearly love the other coffee spots in town so why not stick with what you love, right?

Well, it's been a while since then and I recently met a friend for a beverage there (sat inside) and have to say this time I was impressed. They do have decaf espresso now (I asked) plus a good selection of flavorings, and a wonderful tea menu. I was pleased to see 4 different flavors of rooibus tea and I ordered a tea latte with the rooibus based Earl gray alternative. So very yummy.
