Tacos Locos — Restaurant in Durant

What an awesome gem hidden in the depths of Durant. This restaurant could easily use the title "Authentic Mexican Food" and no one could dispute it. It takes an honest level of authenticity to do so and they really own it. I was blown away with the Lengua tacos. I will say that my supreme burrito, although it was big and tasty, had just a tad more beans and rice ratio to the pastor's meat. No big deal, the reasonable prices justified the ratio difference I guess. I would prefer to pay 1.5 or 2 dollars more but have a bit more meat ratio difference from the rice and beans The salsas were amazing especially the green salsa.

The bathrooms were acceptably clean. The walkway feels dark and being the only bathroom Unisex makes it a challenge for the female customers because Male customers pee all over the toilet seat. The dining room ceiling needs some attention. The entire decoration around the walls, the tables, the floors look great but the ceilings are killing the atmosphere.

The service was great. There is no waitress service; which is fine. There was a guy going around cleaning tables and removing empty plates, that was good. Thank you for the great experience tasting your food!...

So the style is a lot like Chipotle, where you do a meat, a style, and optional rice and beans for a small charge (as of 8/5/25 only 2.50) comes with sour cream, guac, and pico on the side. They have a lot of authentic Mexican flavors, 6 house made taco salsas, in house pickled onion and jalapeno, whole fire roasted Anaheim chilis, fresh cucumber and radish slices to cool down the heat. They have birria, carne asada and barbacoa, pastor, carnitas, lengua, tripe... your choice of burrito, torta or 3 tacos (definitely make any of these options a plate to include the rice and beans). Literally the best Mexican food I may have ever had, better than anything I've had in Phoenix and they are literally the same price as Mexican fast food is. It seems that they definitely take pride in their establishment and put love into the process and didn't charge an arm and a leg for it

The food is good…. The owner is the rudest person there!!! If I pay for my food and ask (ONLY MEAT AND BEANS) I expect to get that. She had the nerve to go to my table where my family and I were eating to tell me that I made her waste food, only because I went to return the order that she gave me wrong!

As a owner/customer service personnel you should!!!! Have common curtesy to speak to your clients (who Pay for what they asking for!) Confirm the order with your client so this type of problem doesn’t happen! Not make your customer apologize for the wrong order that you personally handed out!

This place use to be a favorite of mine but after this all I have to say is you have lost a good amount of clients! As part of a construction company that has been going there for almost a year along with my family and several co-workers and their family YOU HAVE LOST OUR LOYALTY...
