2 weeks in a row we made the trip to go to Durham for ice-cream because of the heat. I told hubs let's take a ride and they may have summer flavors..I have a place that's very popular in my town but a half hour drive in air conditioning during the heat wave was not amiss. 2 weeks in a row we had the same girl wait on us. I write my reviews truthfully..the way the economy is I think if we're spending money we need a heads up..1st week she was not friendly..no greeting so hubs just told her what we wanted..I asked for a cup to put my cone in because sometimes i'm messy..she put the cup/spoon down slammed the screen and walked away..I remarked on it but hubs said it was holiday weekend..it's hot and busy..mmmhmm okay..next weekend same girl..ordered (she asked) napkin dispenser was empty..hubs requested napkins..she said give me that..indicating the dispenser..get your napkins over there..took the dispenser and slammed the screen.. the next window is where we were to go, which had a line to the street..my husband said never mind thank you very much..now it's not a big deal but it is..she was rude..plain and simple..it was our choice to drive there when we could have stayed in our town and our money spends there just as well or even at the grocery store for a quarter of the price..lesson learned..I'm certain it won't hurt their bottom dollar if we never return but employee behavior like that...

I had a nice cup of vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles (don't I always?). This was just as good as any I've had and certainly better than what's to be had at another, nationally known dairy outlet. It also has more character due to its longevity, and perfect location at the confluence of three state routes, two of which head directly to and from the shoreline. I really need to keep this cool little ice cream joint in mind as part of my ice cream addiction! By the way, there is no indoor seating or service, so it's a...
Read moreIce cream was average, line was long but moved quickly, normally a big plus. However, the overall experience was ruined by the rude young woman that insisted I move my vehicle. We had parked in a back lot, where the signage only indicated that one should not block access. It appeared that the employee was unaware that seatbelts are mandatory in Connecticut, and your vehicle has to be running to actually move. Her first request was met by me immediately putting on my belt, handing over my ice cream and starting the car, at which point she felt it necessary to yell in my direction again. A local favorite that won't be on my list of favorites thanks to their flat out...
