The food is awesome, I got the Piggyback burger, quarter pound burger fried chicken breast, and thick cut bacon all placed nicely between two buns. And it was not messy. The sandwich did not fall apart as I was eating it, the fries are pretty good too. That being said, I may have picked the wrong day to be there, Hop and Grind is right in the middle of Durham, and therefore right in the middle of the UNH campus, and I think we visited when every parent decided to visit their child for the weekend and take them to the same restaurant that we were at. It was kind of hectic and chaotic, but the distractions fit the whole decor and ambiance of a really good burger joint. I'll definitely go back if I'm in the area, but truth be told I'd rather go to the one in Peabody Mass if it have a reopens, because their mac and cheese is to die for.

**Edit** We have now been here many times. This is our go-to place for dinner before the UNH Hockey games. It's very busy before a game, so expect a wait, but it's always worth it! You order at the counter and then find a seat (which is challenging on game nights). They bring you your food. Service is always good and the food is always delicious! I usually get the Karate Pig, but vary my french fry selection. I think my favorite is the Kimchi fries... you gotta try them! They always have good beer in tap, and I usually opt for an IPA. My first review: It was our first visit here. Everything was so delicious, and we loved the unique toppings and combos. We tried two types of fries and, of course, had the cookies and cream shake to end our meal. Great service, too! We will be back!

Hop + Grind is hopping GREAT! Every time I go they have some of the best burgers I've ever had! We went in a large group and easily got seating together, but on a night they're really hopping, I'm sure that wouldn't be the case. I got The Piggy Back, a cheeseburger with a fried Chicken patty and their signature sauce on it, and I highly recommend for all you carnivores out there. They have a bar so if you want a drink you go there after ordering your food. The atmosphere is a bit loud, with a very underground punk decore. They have an actual arcade machine near the entrance so it's perfect whether you want to get the high score, or need something to distract the kids while you wait for your food. So far this is my favorite place for Dinner in Durham, and I can't wait to go back!

One of the best burgers I have ever had. The burgers are not your usual burgers by any means but if your willing to try something different then the fast burgers you will be surprised how thankful your taste buds will be thanking you. Big burgers, mouth watering, absolutely surprising the best burger I had in years! I can't say that every burger is going to be for everyone but I am looking forward to going back and trying every bizarre and strange as they sound burgers that they had on the menu. The fries are well cooked tasty as well. I am sure that leaving there hungry is unlikely. Most causes I would have to snack later in the evening but I never cross my mind. Loved the atmosphere with the 1980's lunch boxes that had me going around picking out ones I had when I was a kid. Loved the small over head lamp shades very clever 😄. Very friendly workers that will help you pick the right burger for you. I loved the Nintendo cartridges they had which again reminded me as a child I just wished they had "romance of the Three kingdoms" haha. The bad, well this was the third attempt to eat there because the parking isn't great. The one time I went they had 1/3 of the parking lot cones off. The line is very long ordering if you have people going for the first time that doesn't know the menu and that you order right as you walk in the door.....ya that was my friend and I and before I finished ordering there had to be 8 or 9 people behind us....sorry 😐. The food was served at a very reasonable time much faster then I would think knowing how long I had people wait while I ordered. Before going I would recommend learing the menu so you don't hold up the other hungry people. It was very loud so hard to hear. All in all I highly recommend trying this place. This is my go to place to get a burger at a real burger joint and look forward to trying out the other burgers. Great job on the...

We needed a quick bite after arriving in town just after traditional dinner hour. We searched places to eat on a phone and spotted Hop+ Grind and hurried there. We got a parking spot immediately in front of the storefront windows. If it had been earlier, I think we would have had to park further away and walk. I'm not familiar enough with the area to comment on whether street parking is amply available a/o whether it's pay/free, sorry to say. Hubby had a basket of fried onions that we shared. He chose house- made lemonade; I chose a sarsaparilla in a bottle. We had burgers and they were very good. We'd return if we're in the area. Service was kind of cafeteria -style. Walk in, queue up, place order, be seated and it comes to the table. Atmosphere suited the young and current set...not cozy or quiet, but we didn't expect it to be. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our visit. We thought we would be the last customers because we arrived something like 7:30 with a posted closing time 30 min later. I may be remembering the wrong actual hours, but we didn't have a lot of time remaining. Nope. In walked quite a lot of people between when we ordered and the supposed closing time. I think the time the place actually closed may have been variable. I'm going to check the $10-20/person category that Google reviews proffers, but it was right at $20 if not just slightly higher/ person. I think I had a salad because I had to ask for something on it to be removed (cheese?) ... Sorry, I just can't remember what the details were. I do remember that the waitress was super accommodating and very...

Food was excellent as well as the service. We were a little disappointed they didn't have a couple of menu items the day we went but there is enough on the menu to chose from so it wasn't an issue. Mac and cheese balls, pulled pork, burgers and fries were awesome! Food and service get 5 stars. Atmosphere got a 3 and if I didn't have small kids it probably wouldn't have been an issue. We went as a family and going in, I knew this was in the middle of Durham and the UNH campus. With that said it's not really geared for a family to have a sit down dinner. The decor is pretty cool and the Nintendo cartridges for order #'s were cool and nostalgic and made me feel a little old because my kids had no clue what they were! The restaurant is LOUD. I mean LOUD. Difficult to have a conversation loud and I understand the reason why, probably to keep from making it a hangout for the college crowd. Tuckaway still rules for burgers but if you're in the area, they have a few unique items that are excellent and you won't find there. The other thing is there was no wait the day we went which was good because sometimes an hour wait with kids can be difficult. Give it a try for sure if you want a quick in and out but I wouldn't plan on being able to have a conversation while you eat. I would definitely go back minus the kids for a date night with the wife but as a family, probably not. One more thing, parking can be an issue. Go around the block to the public parking area and you can cross right over the foot bridge to the restaurant to avoid on...
