I went to dinner at the winsor house last Wednesday with a group of girlfriends and it’s safe to say we will not be back again. ||To begin with they couldn’t find out reservation when we arrived and the hostess was very rude about it and insinuating that we never had a reservation to begin with. Due to her attitude I asked to deal with the manager only to find out I was already talking to the manager. She was very rude and difficult to communicate with due to her heavy accent. After about 20 minutes they finally got our table together. ||The server was nice and we all ordered our meals when the food finally arrived after about 45 minutes everything was overly salty (I had the steak frites). The server could tell we weren’t happy with our meals and I think asked the manager to check in on us, (which I wish she hadn’t given our earlier encounter with the manager). After I told her what was wrong with our food she rudely replied that we should have told our server immediately if we didn’t like it. Yes I understand we should have spoken up right away but my group of friends has all worked in the restaurant business at some point and didn’t want to be “that table” and also make it seem like we were trying to get something for free or not have to pay for our meals. Most managers would have offered to get us something else or atleast offer a drink or dessert on the house for the salty food and the mess up of not having our table ready but instead we just got attitude and flat out rudeness. She did nothing to try and make our experience better and salvage this disaster of a night or give us a reason to come back and give the restaurant another try. ||Needless to say we won’t be back again and that manager absolutely needs to take a class on customer service and how to treat paying customers. I have been here a couple times throughout the last few years and noticed that they seem to fly through staff but even more managers, and it’s safe to say the management is getting worse every time a new person...

Read moreFirst, take this review for what it is meant to be, just a one night event. We were regulars at the Winsor House once if not twice per week before moving out of the area. This was prior to the current owners and back when it was owned by the O'Connells. We were a party of four and a baby this night an sat in the carriage room. First off, the wait staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The cuisine however left something to be desired. I ordered the steak frites and, if it were me, I would have used hangar steak. The cut of beef was chewy and tough although cooked to order.. The Winsor burger was also cooked to order however it was at best luke warm, in fact a bit cold. The only feedback we got from the person in our party who ordered The BBQ smoked brisket was that it was very dry. and that they would never order it again. Fries came with each dish and were quite tasty. The party in our group who ordered the fish taco appetizer said they were quite tasty as well. THree of us ordered the clam chowder appetizer and it was quite flavorful although a bit thin and had an oily consistency, looked like butter that had collected on the top of each bowl. Needless to say we were all a bit disappointed with our meals. We dined early with a baby on board and would have thought an owner would be around to ask how our meal was. That did not happen, unfortunately and we did not complain to our waitress who was very attentive. The atmosphere had not changed much, still that of an old very warm & comfortable Inn. The prices were higher than other establishments in the area and that did not bother us. However, we also expected a higher quality meal, better presentation and for it to be a notch above the others. And that's where our...
