I’ve been coming every week since you opened, and I absolutely love the tacos and empanadas! The food and atmosphere are amazing, and I’m so glad to have you here in Eagan.
I do have one suggestion, though. It seems like the servers are being given more tables than they can reasonably handle. I witnessed a server last week and this week —and even the host—having what looked like a panic attack recently, which was hard to see. I calmed them down very quickly! As someone who used to serve and manage in restaurants, I know how important it is not to overwhelm your staff. I never gave more than four tables per server—maybe five if they were very experienced.
From what I observed, some servers had around 10 tables, and they weren’t even in the same sections some were running between the indoor and outdoor sections. That kind of setup makes it nearly impossible to provide great service and keep things running smoothly. With how busy it gets, especially during training camp weekends, it might be worth scheduling more than four servers to keep things balanced. I always told my team: it’s better to be overstaffed than understaffed.
All that said, I’m a big fan and look forward to coming...
Read moreI normally do reviews on the "other" site, but delightful server Caleb said this location was not yet on the "other" site, only on Google. Ok I will do a review on Google even though I prefer the "other" site. Went for dinner. 4:00 ish. Food was excellent. To die for. I had spicy chicken tacos. I did not want beans, but here it's a choice: beans, rice, or corn cakes. I had rice. To die for. Buttery with a hint of tomato. Caleb certainly deserved a huge tip, but I never got the "memo" for 20% tips, I usually tip 15%. But I felt Caleb deserved more for being so delightful so I compromised on 18%. And special to Caleb: I NEVER give 5 stars. Usually has to be OVER THE TOP before I will give 5 stars.
Edit: because of the great food and delightful service from Caleb I went back again next day for lunch. Caleb not working but wonderful service from bartender Austin G. (That was name on my receipt.) I had tortilla...
Read moreSo, great atmosphere, clean and organized, and the food was delicious. 2 critical errors, coming from a long time restaurant manager. While standing there, next up waiting to be seated, 2 different servers approached the front area, made eye contact, and turned their backs and walked away. No "hello", "welcome" or "the hostess will be right with you". And she was, and she was smiling and welcomed us. We got seated and we go to order, and we had one of those cool aer ers who remembers everything, with out writing it down but gets nothing right.. I ordered shrimp tacos. He asked rice or beans, and flour or corn tortillas. I said beans, and corn tortillas. 1 minute later he approached and asked "I'm sorry, you said rice and flour tortillas right? I said nope, and he ran to talk to the cooks. Servers expect maximum tips, for average service. Just write the order down....
